I think the build time is fine, though I would appreciate fewer "blows up to a stray rocket the instant you put it down" incidents.
I guess the proper behavior is to drop the mini in a safe spot and try to lead enemies towards it, but it would be nice to be able to slap it down in a firefight and get some use out of it.
I did manage to get a soldier to gib himself earlier by dropping a mini sentry right in his face, so I guess that's something.

well, i don't think they shouldn't be one shotted. being able to drop something that would, most likely in order not to be one shotted, double your health essentially, would be ridiculous. i think building faster would solve the problems of "woops, stray pipe killed the sentry" without it being worthless in a firefight. i also want to drop it in the middle of combat, but currently it isn't very possible.
i've said it before and i'll say it again: the times i do best as combat engineer post-engineer-update are the same times i did well pre-engineer-update. putting a sentry in a hard to see spot, usually at a height above where the fighting takes place, and hope nobody notices it for a while. i might as well unequip the gunslinger and just build level 1 sentries that will have more health and more damage and eat the extra 2.5 seconds (if i'm wrenching it) build time.
that being said, i still won't unequip my robo fist any time soon.
except when steam forces me back to my FJ + wrangler + wrench loadout like it seems to want to lately.
so that horrible list of medic achievements, why is it so horrible?
has anyone, ever, managed to legitimately do the "get 5 kills in one life with an uber ready but undeployed" one?
I did, it's the only medic achievement I remember getting.
I did it on a horrible PuB arena server.
Battle Medic Chain is pretty good.
Edit: To clarify, I got ubered by the other medic, and went on a killing spree, got like 6 kills by like a minute after the uber, and there was no need to switch and for me to deploy mine
Lame.. I was playing TF2 earlier, tried to craft some scrap metal. Got some gobbeldy message about the crafting server being down.
Come back to play more TF2.. and the three items I was trying to craft are gone. And I got no scrap metal.
RAGE OVER PIXELS.
every single time i craft, ever, it says "can't connect to craft server!"
then either 10 seconds later the craft screen shows me what i made
or 5 minutes later i "found" that item in chat
This happens to me too! Only it always does the second thing for me; i.e. after being told the craft server is unavailable I "find" the item I was trying to craft after my next death. And sometimes, for added value, after "finding" an item the buttons don't work, or I'll get back into the game but a menu will be stuck on screen and I can only move forward, backwards, left or right or shoot.
There's a few people on the steam forums talking about this crafting problem, I guess it must be happening to lots of people or something...
The way I use the quick sentry is Frontier Justice + Pistol + Gunslinger, I use the pistol as my main weapon until the sentry gets some kills then bust out the heavy firepower.
I just got my Gunslinger tonight, this is such a fun way to play engi; I hated normal engineer, but this!

Yes. Got it on cp_well, in a regular match.
Get a regular uber and switch to the blutsauger. If you're super careful and run when you need to run, you can get 5 kills before you die. People are often hurt and underestimate a well-aimed blutsauger.
The medic achievements were awful in general, every other pack has been far easier because they weren't full of shit.
Actually they've all been full of shit because non-cosmetic weapons and items should be given to everyone upon release and not earned like a fucking EA game
but the achievements post-medic were easier, yes

Yeah, yeah, yeah? Well at least you have scrap metal to waste on crafting that may or may not be working.
Jerk.
Assumptions are cute.

No problem.
Air-blasting people to their doom is just way to much fun. Especially if they are Natascha heavies.
