So unfortunately I was crazy busy at work during the 24 hour or so span when the highlander tourney was being worked out, but it sounds like they plan on opening up the field to more teams. Is there still spots available on the PA team? If not, is there enough interest for us to create a second team?

Spot that you could draw attention to or boost the displacement up a bit as you can crouch jump up here out of the gorge on red side.
Spot in blu spawn. Probably can find this without the pic.
Looks good to me. I think that with more details the hallways will seem a bit shorter and you will be able to tell one from another.
Yeah, that spot by the bridge is just barely too high for a normal jump. A little bit wider gap between the rock and the bridge and a little bit more ground there would make it really clear.
There's a spot further down on the opposite side of the CP where it looks like you should be able to climb the bank but it's a tiny bit too steep.
Thank you to everyone for helping during the test.
I'm going to try to put in some basic textures for the next test. They will change once the detailing team takes over but it might help everyone feel the real length of the map.
Edit: The feedback was especially helpful and the pictures.
Haha, I was just curious if there was something about more than 2 cps that made the maps completely bad, since all of dustbowl is broken up into two cp chunks and gorge is only 2 cps
it's probably more about distance a team should be required to cover without a spawn moving
I have a pair of Sennheiser PX-100 that I really didn't want to replace with some generic headset, but I also didn't want to use a standing mic. Took me a while to find a clip-on, but I really like the one I bought. It's this one, and it costs about $13. You get surprisingly good audio quality for that price and size, too.

Think I might join you gents, getting sick of my current server. Is it alright to play without a mic, or is that frowned upon with the PA servers?
It's fine, THOUGH it is A LOT MORE FUN playing on a team where people can talk to each other. Voice comm helps a lot in this game even if only used for nothing more than calling out spies.

also, it really should drop onto the top of the point, killing anyone who might be standing there
And he better not use that "in 2025" loophole to try to get out if it!
edit: Hey, the picture in that quote tree I linked doesn't have the jpeg corruption anymore. I wonder if that's on the part of imageshack. Neato.
When I got home I ripped one of the trains out of trainwreck and put it in a demo vmf:
http://xzzy.org/files/games/tf2/traindemo.vmf
It has functioning lights and bells. Two of the entities also have outputs to open and close a door, I left it on there just in case.
The logic_case has entries for other trains too, you can delete them. I just left them on to show how I choose randomly between trains.
That's a bad reason to decide whether you like a hat. My first hat was the Preussian Pickelhaube and I still think it's a pretty bad hat.
ahahahaha, oh god
Is..is that satan?

I like to think that the hats are slowly devouring him.
Get one that has a good, solid usb connector. I had a logitech one that just fell apart on me.
It's bulletproof I think.
plantronics headset
It works pretty damn well, quality is good and win 7 recognizes is right away as a logitech mic.
"U GET TTG 1.99 VERY CHEAP HATS4CHEAP.COM CHEAP YES"
Should be up on the Zissou in about 15 min.
The cheapo mic I have now get tons of electrical noise, that's why I'm looking for a USB mic.
these past few days it has been making me sound like i'm underwater though, anyone know why that is? restarting seems to fix it
I use this on my desk

and this for headset

I second(or third) plantronics. They went to the moon, after all.
Though I only have experience with their analog headsets.
Thanks.
Did you uncurl your cables? They have a tendency to curl up.

On this side, it looks like you should either be able to squeeze through, or not fit at all. Instead, you get stuck halfway.

It looks like you should be able to jump out here, and you kinda can, but I get stuck every time.

Self explanatory, maybe this is going to be fixed in the detail pass?
How close do you have to be for the mic to pick up your voice?
not very close, here's a shakycam phone pic i took:

Turns out my 5 dollar mic works just fine 8-)
