Got my Majin And The Forsaken Kingdom game in yesterday and, despite some terrible voice work and voice direction (majin is, as I feared, your big strong retarded friend) the gameplay is awesome.
That game is pretty good.
Majin is annoying though, and he trips like... every two seconds "duuuuurrrrr...owwwwwwch"
I do love the buddy vibe, and how Tepeu and Majin celebrate after beating the shit outta tar men.
The game is really awesome. How I wish they would have gone with the Ico line of voice direction tho. As is, it's a douchebag skater punk hauling the most stereotypical version of Lennie Small available around.

I picked up Valkyria Chronicles yesterday from that Amazon deal.
I thought I would, then told myself 'no'.
Then I watched some video of a battle on youtube. Then I was totally into it.
Everyone tell me how amazing it is so I feel less bad about having bought it.

The game is really goddamn good. It was one of the reasons I bought a PS3. Playing through it reminded me a bit of playing Shining Force on the Genesis back in the day.
The only real issue I have with its tendency to enter cheesy anime mode during the cutscenes.

I sure had no idea what I was getting into when I rented it. Just "this game is awesome" comments.
Over the shoulder Advance Wars with a painting like graphics filter turned out to be pretty awesome.
I kind of want to play it again. The first time was on an old TV that does 1080i but still looks like shit. Now that the system is hooked up to a proper shiny monitor, it would be nice to see those graphics as they should properly be seen.

It plays almost nothing like Advance Wars despite being in roughly the same genre. Fire Emblem I could see. It's closest to a more free form Shining Force though.

I pick a unit, move him across the map, and attack another unit. Only the camera moves down to ground level and there's a hint of 3rd person shooter mingled in.
Advance Wars was just the first game that popped into my head, but Fire Emblem is probably closer. Same diff. It's all just chess in the end. :P

Dead Space and Dead Space 2 for cheap from the EA store!
I can't click that link at work, but... is that digital download? Or can you get a copy for consoles?
Figures, since I just paid $18 for the platinum hits version of DS1 via Amazon :grumble:
Yeah it's digital download only.
I'm seriously thinking about picking it up for the PC at this price... But here's the thing: I want to get it on the PS3/360 first, THEN the PC because I know the PC version is superior, but I'd like the achievements/trophies.
Honest and for true? Dang, I always had some nebulous idea they were open world GTA sorts of games.
It's a little bit of both. There are open world portions to it where you sing karaoke and play darts and go fishing, and then there are the segments where you wail on dudes which play more like godhand or virtua fighter.
Some things of notice:
3D Dot Game Heroes for $15
Sonic Colors $23
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow $27
The prices fluctuate quite a bit, generally in the downward direction. It's worth keeping an eye on at least. I'm holding out 'til Monday to toss an order for Castlevania in. Maybe it'll go down to $23 or something.
Gamestop dropped the price of Knights in the Nightmare PSP to like $14, and when I picked it up they actually gave me a *sealed* copy with the Yggdra Union download code, too. KitN and Yggdra Union for less than $15 [tiny]once PSN finally comes back up[/tiny]? Hell yeah!
Now, if I could just figure out why the fuck my Hermit will only face backwards and attack off the screen in KitN...

Yeah, that's a fucking crime. Both those games are amazing.
What's wrong with the PSP versions? The KitN port defitely shows that the controls were built for DS, but I can't see any reasons the others would matter much.
There has been some delicious downward pressure on LA Noire preorders, and Amazon currently has it for $59.99 + a $15 Amazon gift card, for a total cost of $44.99

All this talk of VC in here....
(totally a game worth owning, though)

Reposting it in the DS2 thread if you don't mind!

Also Amazons DotD is Yakuza 4 for $39.99 which seems like a decent deal.
Digital download only.

To add to this, Yakuza 3 also went on sale this morning. Or at least it dropped in price about 5 bucks.
Really tempted to buy them. I've been meaning to. Loved 1 and 2.
edit: but I haven't touched it in probably 2 years.
I dont really know, but I'm bored at work so I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say "Way of the Samurai but with Yakuza"

I wish there was a way to transfer..... and also ME2 for 360 is less than $20 anyways... so I'll wait....
Yes but is it less than 10 dollars?
That was my logic, and I'm in the same boat as you.
So I just ordered both; I'd been wanting to play through 1 again anyhow.

Really? What did you find wrong with them?
P&C Adventures games are the best, too.
Portal 2 is still $34.99 Consoles / $29.99 PC on Amazon, too!
