Repairing an old laptop with hard to find parts

I have an old ECS G900 laptop I’m trying to fix. The “CPU_FAN” connection on the board no longer works so the CPU heatsink’s fan doesn’t run. I tried hooking the heatsink up to the “SYS_FAN” connection and it works fine, but it leaves the system fan obviously unplugged. I’m trying to figure out a way to keep both fans powered.

I’ve been looking for a splitter cable to share the “SYS_FAN” port, but I don’t know if one exists for such a small connection or what it would be called (it looks like a miniature molex cable of sorts).

I’d also settle for a USB powered solution to this problem. The USB fan I found here looks like it uses a molex converter, but the plug appears bigger than the small ones used in this laptop.

I’ve read that it might be possible to power the fan by splicing a USB cable and just matching red and black to their counterparts. I’m hesitant to do this because I can’t find replacement parts for this laptop anywhere and don’t want to risk damaging anything. Still, if this is a viable option I might try it.

Here’s a few pictures to better explain my predicament (sorry for the blurriness):
The problematic CPU_FAN port and the working SYS_FAN port:

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Does anyone at least know what the small molex-like connector is called? Thanks.
