I mean I know WoW lore in most cases just blatantly rips off things, and in the case of Lovecraft, I understand this is kind of what he wanted

    but seriously?
    Q. What's happening at the Master's Glaive? The last time we saw it, it was mostly buried underground.

    A. Twilight's Hammer cultists have recently begun to unearth the remains of Soggoth, one of the more powerful servants of the Old Gods, from beneath the Master's Glaive with the intent of bringing him back to life. Players will have to foil the cultists' plans before the new incarnation of Soggoth reaches full strength.

    Shoggoth

edit: A sort of on-topic aside: I finally started reading my Lovecraft collection. It's really good stuff.

Writers cost money. Money you spend takes away from your profit. Profit loss means less money to spend on things like writers. Obviously the solution is to not hire writers and just "reference" already existing materials.

My point is that C'thun is less directly a reference than Yogg-Saron which is less directly a reference than Soggoth

    Cthun- Cthulu

    Yogg Saron - Yog Sothoth

    Soggoth- Shoggoth

they aren't even trying any more

but i still like lovecraft references so whatever

I don't know, Cthun and Soggoth are a lot closer than Yogg Saron. I'd say Cthun is more identifable because Cthulu is a more common known Lovecraftian entity as opposed to Shoggoth. You ask nerds who Cthulu and Shoggoth are you'll probably get more responses to Cthulu.

Wow, is there enough red underline Firefox?

WoW is a game that borrows heavily from other ideas/games/mythology.

Starting with WC: Orcs and Humans and Starcraft essentially copying a lot from the Warhammer universe.

Man tonight's raid was productive as hell... 11/12 in three hours with no wipes. we have two full raid nights for LK to kick our asses this week

If your guild is like mine watch your attendance drop to 1/3 the usual level for those 2 nights.

Just tell them a mount drops off the guy, that can be sold for $azeroth.

Oh I'm sure there'll be a good group who "forgot" we raid on thursday and have to go. As long as it's better than last sunday where the raid broke up after an hour cause one of the officers bailed for a booty call and it's hard to pug someone for just sindy/lk apparently.

Will this go away when tanking becomes 'harder' more than likely. I actually hope it does. In Cataclysm, I'll be very surprised if my guild does 25 mans at all. Of course that's entirely dependent upon how 'tuned' these instances are for 10's vs 25's.
The shared raid lockouts are going to be responsible for that, not the tanking changes.

Well the tanking changes might answer some of this as well if our current tanks cannot sink their teeth into new rotations etc. I'd say its 50/50 our extra tanks being able to tank and the shared lockouts.

You'll level a lot faster both questing and in dungeons as feral.

You can quest as a kitty, then queue for dungeons and go bear form and you're good to go. Instant LFDs, here you come.

*As an added bonus, for most dungeons, as the tank you can just chain pull the crap out of the place, and have fun clearing out dungeons faster than if you were waiting for a more skittish tank.

I probably should have mentioned I can't read. Either way, healing gets you groups faster, bad tanks or not. Putting the bad tanks on ignore means you won't ever see them again. Which can be good or bad.
