Fuck me. Trying to level a druid as balance, but it takes 20 minutes to get a group, which then falls apart because no-one seems to fucking know how to tank. At this rate I might as well just spec feral and tank this shit.
Queue as a healer. No one should notice until you're about lv60.
As long as the tank is decent, you shouldn't have any huge problems healing as balance til 80.
That seemed to be the problem in the first place.
I probably should have mentioned I can't read. Either way, healing gets you groups faster, bad tanks or not. Putting the bad tanks on ignore means you won't ever see them again. Which can be good or bad.
Ironzerg also has a good point.
Well, yeah, I just leveled feral and tanked any dungeon I did while leveling up my druid (pre-LFD), so obviously that will fix one problem, but it sounded like the guy actually wanted to play an oomkin instead of tanking everything.
EDIT: Wasn't Shogoth the biggest bad of the lovecraftian big bads?
The baddest trash mobs, but still just trash.
Ahh, for some reason I thought I remembered him as being our imminent destruction. Then again, with the scale of humans they don't really need a heavy hitter to bring about our apocalypse
Yeah, which is why I recommended he heal dungeons. With tanks having heirlooms nowadays they barely need any healing at all. But he also said he runs into terrible tanks... so I'm out of ideas.
At least when you're healing you can let baddies die.
I wish I had a screenshot of Recount after this happened. I just did a random H OK and there was an unholy DK who did an overall DPS of 700, half that of the healer. His top 5 damaging attacks were: Melee, DnD, Blood Boil, Nercrosis, and Death Coil, in that order. He used Icy Touch a grand total of five times.
Thankfully the tank and I were doing more than half the group's total damage, or that place would have been bad.
Personally, I'm hoping they do away with all of those 'trade-skill-plus racials'
When I create a character......I just feel obliged to pick that trade-skill, blah!
I know what you mean, it seems like such a waste if you don't make use of it.
Hopefully they'll release some information on the revamped racial abilities soon. I'm really digging the activated bonuses that goblins get, rocket barrage and rocket jump in particular. Having access to your bank via a cooldown is also stupidly useful.
They won't do away with them, their plan is to make the trade skill racials "more fun", whatever that means.
+20 instead of +10.

Blizzard has got to do something about the d-bags who leave a group right after a boss when their item doesn't drop. That's twice it's happened to be in my random today.

I think you can report that.

Best HoR run ever. Got the trash drop wand and the nice helm from the Lich King sequence. And it was a flawless run :P

That shouldn't be a reportable offense. It SHOULD factor into how often you are able to be slotted into random groups. So for example if you drop group during an instance, you got some modifier on your character that downgrades your place in the LFG que. Make it a stacking debuff to where eventually you're at the bottom of the heap. But reportable - come on.
As for groups, I am infinitely sick of 6K geared folks strolling into these raids, expecting everyone to know these fights flawlessly, and then pouting when "Omg. . ." someone dies, or doesn't take the sickness debuff off someone. Shockingly it is almost always the guy with the most annoying voice in vent. This time it was some Pally who hopped in midway through instance, who wanted me to hearth BACK to Dalaran, and then pop over to UC to respec and get my DPS gear and then hop on back to the instance so he could tank because "I feel more comfortable tanking. . ." I said screw that, if I leave I leave the group. What is the point of being there if its not to freaking learn the damn encounter. :x

Why is it always the shittiest dps that call for fast runs? It was UK and I was on my druid. Rogue and Shaman healer are from the same server/guild. The first thing the rogue says is "make this a speed run, the healer has to leave soon". So I pull the first hallway whole (it's only UK after all) and then chain pull. The rogue has maybe 1300 dps and before we're even near the first boss the Shaman cries for Innervate.
I'm probably the nicest tank in LFD. I do all the bosses in shitty dungeons if they ask me. I'll even ask them when we start a dungeon with skippable bosses. I do stupid achievements that take more time than the regular way (the Ooze one in HoS comes to mind) I have no problems with going slow to accomodate a newish healer. But clamoring for a speedrun while bringing shitty dps and not having the regen for it yanks my chain.

For what it's worth, those first mobs in UK have a nasty debuff, that can drop even well-geared tanks if you as a healer aren't paying attention; he might have lost alot more mana than he anticipated.
Of course, if he struggled with that bit, neither he nor his friend should have been asking and getting on your case about making it a fast run.

This happened to me the other day. We had a decent group, dude pulled the whole first room and dropped almost instantly. I ended up Evasion-tanking the whole group will doing some kind of absurd DPS on my rogue. I think only the healer and myself made it out in one piece.
Heh, back before they changed CoS so you could skip the RP sequence at the beginning, I had a druid (who was the tank) who basically spammed party chat with "can we do a speed run" and "lets make this fast".
No one had started the event though, so they sat around while I went back and did the stupid thing myself.
I had one call for a speed run in h-dtk the other day.
So I pull the first hallway was all good.
Pulled the room with trollgore, noticed healer out of mana super fast, so I wait till I get low pop vamp blood, Icebound fort, summon ghoul and sac it for a 37k heal.
Looking at the guy he is in feral gear, and not good stuff either. It was terrible. I am not a gear whore, I don't particularly care, but this guy refused to even listen to any thing. He was all "gogogogo" while dps lay dead. He said his gear was optimal. Honestly at any moment I expect a "We are no strangers to love"
We cant vote kick and I have to go out soon so I just tell the dps to bandage, and I will take care of myself.
Dps did die a couple of times, and had to run back as the guy wouldnt/couldnt rez "druids can only do it in combat, I have been a druid since vanilla". Guy wouldnt listen. Turned on rankwatch, everything is level 60 spells, guy hasnt trained in forever. How the fuck he got to 80 I will never know.
We actually managed to get a 10 man hardmode run off the ground last night. I had extended my previous lockout, so we were able to skip directly to Blood Wing. Princes were a pain in the ass on hardmode but we got them down, and BQL was a oneshot even with a dead DPS and a miscalled BL. It's nice to be back in the saddle again

I lol'd at the mental image this conjured of the intro movie.
I just asked a warlock not to pull so I could actually gather the mobs and get rage, and was told "fuk u. faggot."
Wheeee, instant queues are fun.
/ignore and then let him die.
Apparently Dalaran Wizards become Ambermill Witchaloks come Cata.
Oh hahahaha, that's awesome.

A prot warrior joined lfg as DPS. I kicked him out 2 pulls in.
Someone put that on the WoWHead site as well. I don't have a WoWHead account, so if that was you... :^: .
If not then :^: to whoever that guy is too.
Oh lawdy...
Nope.
I hear ya man.
The engineering bonus is so much better.

DPS give themselves too much credit.
Most healers, on the other hand, are pretty solid.
