Joe is well, a midget with a big head. But I don't hate it so much now that I've seen the pics. Maybe it's the fact that he's shaded the same as the rest of the cast.
I feel like they finally made Vewitful Joe taller and similar to the other guys.
They did a good job of maintaining his preportions without making him the size of Servbot.
I also just found an old sleeve of GameCube games of my brother's, and in it is Vewtiful Joe 2. Ive never tried any of them. Is it any good? Whats it like?

That super was like the most useless thing ever in TvC. I don't understand how you are even supposed to hit someone with it. I hope it's better in this game.

Viewtiful Joe 2 wasn't horrible but it wasn't nearly as good as the first one
Difficulty is toned down, the graphics are somehow worse, every other cutscene is Silvia reminding us she exists
You can switch between Joe and Silvia at any time, but you'll never use Silvia unless her guns or Replay are absolutely required to progress because otherwise she's useless
It is more of the same type of Viewtiful Joe action, which is still pretty good, but like I said it's not as good as the original
MvC2 is a straight up re-release/port with online.
SSF4 is an expansion/update with new characters and system changes (albeit small ones) and balance changes.
Not really fair to lump the 2 together.
But if this game requires unlocks it will get pretty close to no buy from me.
really?
I cant imagine why unlocks would ever be the deciding factor in a fighting game. The vast majority of them (again, other than re-releases, which even though SSF4 has a lot of new stuff -- it's essentially a souped up re-release) all have unlocks.
And even TvC had some of it's best characters (FRANK WEST!) as unlocks.

its not that big a deal for me, its just nice to have all your options and strategies and gameplay there from the start, rather than several hours in. meh, i'll just whack it on single round easy mode or summat and grab as many characters as quickly a possible. it could be like a seperate game: roster-completion time attack mode!
I just hate having to play usually unfun single player modes, especially in fighting games nowadays with atrocious AI, just to play characters I want to play as in versus. Or unlock colors or taunts or whatever.
Heck, I'd much rather pay for an unlock code DLC as long as the price is reasonable, than do that.
It's not saying that I won't buy MvC3 if it has it (though I'm still iffy if i'm going to get it anyway), I'm just saying that it'll be a minus on my buying priority list.
So yeah, TLDR.
Fuck unlocks.
And SSF4 still =/= re-release.
edit: I mean, would you call, for example, starcraft brood war a re-release?
Not to totally derail the thread, but Ive never played Starcraft so I have no idea.
And I mean, I really do get what you're saying, but I think you get what I'm saying too.
SSF4 really could have been a patch. Honestly, it really could have. It added some fighters, and changed some mechanics (tweaked I'd say - there's nothing RADICALLY different), and added some extra content like the car stuff. But at it's core - it's still Street Fighter 4...just SUPER!
And the budget price reflected that even Capcom knew and fully admitted that it wasn't exactly a "new" title. It was SF4 with an update.
So my point was that the ORIGINIAL games - MvC2, SF4 and now Tatsunoko vs Capcom, all have unlocks.
and that the re-releases/updates - MvC2 Online, SSF4, they all let you have everyone, because I'm assuming that THEY are assuming you already did it all once.
What I would ideally like to see is all characters unlocked in Vs/Online modes, and story/challenge/training/single player modes need unlocks.

I get what you mean, but calling them re releases to me sounds wrong. The content is enough to make it a different game to Vanilla figher 4. Updated system, characters, tweaked gameplay modes (like lobbies) and even the story I guess.
Could be a patch but it'll be a big one and definitely won't be free.
Also, I've gotta say no to unlock for challenge and training. Other than that it would be okay mostly because i won't really touch the other single player stuff. :P
I think that the SSF4 method for unlocks is the best. All characters unlocked, and you unlock other stuff for your character by playing with your character in matches.
They could still put in artwork and other stuff as unlocks instead of characters.
Ill compromise on that Antihippy - my point with keeping training/challenge locked was that I am a firm believer in needing some kind of valuable reward for actually getting good at the game. I'm one of the weird people who believes that getting 1000/1000 gamerpoints on any given game should be hard as balls. There should be one or two achievements that only the people who explore every area, learn every trick, and master every technique should get - thats why they're achievements.
So I feel like there SHOULD be some characters that serve as a reward for those who really play the game a lot and get great at it. And skins and costumes could fill that role very nicely.
That way, both you and I can play as Thor straight out of the box - but when I see you are rocking CLASSIC COSTUME Thor, and I still just have Ultimate, I know you are going to be a tough fight

Unlockables in MvC3 is not an issue for me, since I plan on playing the single player mode. Since The game will supposedly have storylines, Single player mode will be a lot more interesting to play than MvC2's.

Yeah I'm not disputing that there can't be some unlocks, but just no unlockable characters.

See, but with taking the game online I don't feel as if unlockable characters are a good idea. I don't want to have to play through story mode with every character in the game just to unlock Dormammu. I don't play fighting games for the single player, so why should it dictate what I can use in multiplayer?
Cosmetic stuff, sure. I'll play through the game to unlock colors and taunts and costumes and what not, but don't force me to play one aspect of the game to unlock characters for another.
EDIT: I agree on the subject of achievements though. Just not characters.

But Dormammau is awesome.
So at this rate, I think most of the TvC Capcom side has made the jump. I hope we get Alex or Zero.

No replaying the game with different unique characters
No Music video
Nothing.

If wonder if there's any chance they'll use some of his ludicrous dialogue from when Giffen and DeMatteis did the Defenders.
Both the original SF4, MvC2 and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom all have made you unlock people.
I bet anything there will be unlocks in this, and not in SUPER MvC3.

Should have clarified in my initial post i guess.
Actually, it's Mystic Flame. Same difference though.
Dormammu is my favorite villain, so i'm happy he's in.

Not really, i mean he's not as obscure as Shuma-Gorath.
Dormammu being in doesn't guarantee Dr.Strange. I do hope Strange makes it in however.
