I don't know. Maybe it's because I didn't play RE5, but Wesker just doesn't strike me as an epic villain to team up with Doom. Bison, Sigma, maybe even Nobunaga somehow, but Wesker? Eh...

Doom is a villain for a bunch of guys. Yeah, he works mostly against the Fantastic Four, but he has a diversified portfolio. Actually, the list of Marvel heroes who haven't faced Doom in one way or another is probably a lot shorter than the list of heroes who have fought Doom.
Also, I hope this business about the story is rather tongue-in-cheek. Because honestly, screw spending more effort on the story over spending more effort on the actual combat. As far as I'm concerned, singleplayer is only there as another practice mode. What the hell do I care if Doom is teaming up with come random Capcom bad guys? In fact, I'd rather see the story cut entirely if it means even just a couple more characters added to the game.

You have to remember though back when you were 10 and that stuff was cool.
They have to think about the kids too. They want their money.
Though the kids will probably be happy having Spider-man beat up the Hulk.

Back when I was 10, the most story that fighting games had was a minute of subtitles plus some extra action shots. That was amusing, sure, but that's about all the "story" a fighting game really needs. And that was plenty good enough for me since I spent most of my time just fighting other people anyway.

Meh. Either way, I doubt story has much to do with gameplay anyway, they're different departments.
And knowing Capcom's track record, I'm sure the writing department is probably 1 guy.

Huh, I just noticed from that last video that one of the players started a super, swapped in with Trish's super, and Trish's red health didn't go away. So potentially, you could swap through the supers on your characters without crippling them because you called them in before they healed up.
Wow, Arthur. Only ever played Ghouls & Ghosts on the Genesis and never got past the 5th stage, but having a fun childhood memory revived is always awesome.

I really like the Symbiote/Black costume and Deathstroke alternate costumes for Spidey and Deadpool.
I hope Wesker's alt is his S.T.A.R.S. Uniform, Felicia's is her nun outfit, Viewtiful Joe's is untransformed/regular Joe, Dante's is his DMC4 "cowboy" outfit or his DMC1 clothes, Trish is her "Gloria" disguise from DMC4, and Hulk's is his World War Hulk attire.
Really hope another Mega Man franchise character gets added like Mega Man X, Zero, or Protoman.

That's how it worked in TvC so it's not too surprising. Some methods of tagging in kept the red meter intact (usually any method that used super meter), while others didn't.

I'm hoping for Protoman and Roll. The former is due for a VS debut, while the later was finally good in TvC. The rest of the entire Mega Man franchise is irrelevant as far as I care.

They pretty much hinted at another Mega Man character being in there at the panel tonight.
I am so sad this game doesn't come out until next year. I am sure after I play it all day tomorrow, I am going to be so depressed until Spring 2011. Haha.
Every single piece of footage I see that involves Tron just convinces me that she's going to be an absolute monster. She's much larger now and gets all the range benefits that come with it, she seems to be able to combo everything into her launcher or any of her supers, she got that awesome Level-3.
She just seems faster, stronger, and far more combo-friendly than she was even in MvC2 and I still hold that she was damn good in that game.
Drill into the corner combos into her launcher... that's just not even fair.
