I still consider us pretty fortunate, apart from the theft of a lot of torches and redstone and some occasional fires we have not lost that much work. Certainly not on the scale of several hours worth at least, from what I can tell.
tooling around in single player, getting a feel for it. Started digging a cave on an island but then it got dark and I had zero visibility. Gonna have to figure out to make torches.
The question remains how the fuck they even found our servers.
'S what happens when it's posted in-thread - people can find it. The place I normally go to for Creative Multi gives its address out via PM, and maybe we should too (if only so we know who's who).

I hacked in teleporting. I'm pretty happy about that. 8-)
So what can you do with this? Do you have coordinates set up, or what? Do you set up spots to tp to based on commands? What's your guidance system based on?
So there is a giant landmass east of the starting island on Zetx's server.
Just keep sailing east until you find a giant F (There's a large cave there but that's not important). Then change course a bit to the left until you see a gravel pillar with some stone jutting out the side. Scan the mountain top for some stupid looking thing like this:
Huzzah! You have sound Mt. Ohshitwrongstep and the fucking awesome forest behind it.
Well on Vic's server I got my forest retreat rebuilt even though the forest burnt down, it is regrowing right now. I also erected a massive K in the land behind it.
Edit: Where can you find iron? I just keep getting this stupid flint.
Iron appears in the sameish places coal does, though in smaller quantities. Best bet is spelunking-mining. Look for beige ore, and make sure you have a stone or better pick.

Yes, keep in mind this is iron ore:
This is stone, which is what iron ore spawns in:
This is gravel, which only ever drops a) gravel or b) flint, never iron ore:
For those frustrated with griefers there will be passworded servers at some point. They are completely open now which allows for all sorts of douchebaggery. Also land claims will be in as well which will prevent tampering.

My Keep is in the water right across from you. I planted a good 100 saplings around your retreat (to farm more saplings, to farm wood).. Those pyro bastards..

Ah, as a followup, when you find dirt or gravel when spelunking, about 75% of the time (In my experience), there's a vein of some kind buried in it. Carry a few shovels with you and clear it out. Even if there's nothing there you want, or just plain nothing there, you can refill it or make a storage area out of it.
Whoa, Vic's server is laggy as hell right now. Maybe I'll get on tomorrow then.
Yeah, we found some way to teleport to a new area. It involved jumping down this hole to the blue abyss underneath, killing you, then respawning multiple times while jumping around. You end up in this new area nowhere near the spawn that we're not even sure is on the same map. We all went off in the four directions, and the land gen damn near killed the server, :P.

I really think it's on the same map, just far, far away. We'll have to get on sometime where there's very few people and explore like we were planning: one person goes to each of the four cardinal directions. I'm sure we will eventually find /home.

I can confirm that It seems this trick has generated what seems to be a part of the world very far away. It seems like we have two worlds now. I'm interested in seeing the over world map now.

You can do /tp <username> and teleport to that user. I want to add in saving an extra position to teleport to, a 'second home' sort of thing.

Keep leaping off into the abyss and hope that the next leap will be the leap /home
so you are like "i'll just play some minecraft for a bit!"
suddenly it is 4 AM
and you are like "shit i should stop"
but then, the worst thing happens
you find something like THIS:
but unfortunately sleep is overpowering my need to explore this waterfall natural cavern
god i love this game though
can stuff like this just appear or form? or has it been here the whole time, because i'm sure i would've noticed the current that this waterfall just almost pulled me in on

Nice.
Since that looks like sand, its possible it was genned without a solid base. When you interacted with it, it collapsed (it realized it doesnt have a solid base), possibly causing what you found.

it'll be great to explore, i floated down the waterfall a bit and there are passages to the left and right of the waterfall as i was going down on several levels...
this is going to be fun but in the meantime... sleep

I blew myself up and all my gear.
Oh that's cool, I'm interested in seeing what else can be changed on a server by the admin.

okay that was bad
This feels like sim city almost, I hope it gets to the point where its more simulation, and maybe even random hazards like storms, etc.
I was using "Slice."
My plan was to get a slice of 120, 119, 118, 117, 116, 115, etc.
But all the images are the exact same. I checked.
Bridges that go through the water are bad.
Also, whoever destroyed the book blocks, and stole my dock's desk sign as well as my rooftop redstone lining, you're a jerk. :?
This will be here until I receive an apology or Weedlordvegeta get any consequences for being a bully
