All tri monsters are there, some MHP3rd are missing. I don't think we'll ever see a MHFU massive assembly of monsters again

I'm glad they have a spider monster. I was worried that they wouldn't bring giant deadly nightmare fuel into my life.

Now they just need to make it aquatic and I will totally destroy my underwear.

I can't pronounce Doburuberuku. I just physically cannot.
An English pronunciation could come close to "Doberberg/Doberberk" or , with "dober" pronounced like Doberman Pinscher, and "berk/berg" similar to "Berkeley/iceberg". Why the G sound? Oddly enough, the same "beruku" spelling is used in the Japanese spellings of German names such as Weinberg and Nuremberg.

Really looking forward to March. I've been plugging away at High Rank fights in P3rd trying to get 'los gems and Zino gems. Anyone know if the drop rates are higher for the silver one versus the regular? I can take down the vanilla one in around 20 minutes with the axe but I don't have a thunder one for the silvers because, you know. Zino gems. I'm seriously considering starting off in MHU with the SA but it would break my long-running tradition of using hammers.

Does anybody know the details of what the Guild Card streetpass exchange does in the 3DS MH3U? I've looked for details and didn't see anything very useful.

All I've found is that StreetPass is supposed to shuffle off people's Guild Cards.... nothing more than that. I'm hoping you can share more than just that. Taken straight from Amazon's description of the 3DS version:

"Taking advantage of the portability of Nintendo 3DS, players can exchange their guild card that contains all their hunter's information with other players via StreetPass."

    I hope it's more, but we'll see.

The Lance intimidated me so much when I first started. Then I realized that with Counter, Advance, and Charge your character is pretty much invincible and ahve been stabbing fools nonstop. I'm not good enough to know all the movesets, but I am proud to say that I have fought a Narga without ever getting hit...not on a Lance, though, the Narga is a SnS or DS fight for me, he's too quick for me to fumble around with the Lance.

Yeah, with how blocking and dodging works, the "defensive" weapon is probably the most aggressive one in the game.

Latest Nintendo Direct had a new trailer. Also, announced that Monster Hunter 3 for 3DS will now get online - ONLY if you connect it through a WiiU application (and that will oddly enough require a wired connection, not the wireless one).

So to play the 3DS version online, you need a WiiU?

That's kinda silly. I mean, why play it on the 3DS then? you own a WiiU, a console with a better looking version of the exact same game :)

Or did you mean Monster Hunter 4?

I was able to dig up a little more from a post on Capom-Unity.
The online harbor also has the flat hunter quests where once you have some friends guild cards, you can send them out on quests to get you materials. This is pretty much the same as the cat wagon from mhp3rd.

They showed off two (well, one was "teased", more like) new monsters which seemed very serpentine. I wonder if this means they'll institute an entirely new family of Monsters, like how they did with the Leviathans? I don't think there's a group specifically for legless, slithering monsters just yet.

Wired connection to the console or the internet, the WiiU doesn't have an ethernet port right?

Also, anyone know what time the eshop updates?

I assume it's two-fold. 1: it encourages anyone who starts with the 3DS version to upgrade to a WiiU so they can do online. 2) It lets WiiU players go to meetups with people who don't have WiiUs.

After that trailer I am so on board for monster hunter 4 it's not funny.

I seriously think that this version of monster hunter has possibly the best chance of making it big in western territories just judging by the additions to the game. Of course this is just going by the trailer, and Capcom may not agree with me. Either way it seems like the biggest step forward for the series yet.

Since I've been off Tri for a while now, I'm rusty, but I've been practicing quite a bit the last few days. I'll never be a perfect hunter, however I'm quickly getting back up to my previous skill level. Had some fun fights last night with Lagi's and others using my Lance. Good god that weapon is just SO DAMN AGGRESSIVE. One of the Gigginox I fought, I think I was all over his nuts from start to finish, never a pause. ALthough, I should feel bad because I accidentally charged through one of the other hunters, but last night was particularly rough on my character so I didn't feel all THAT bad. I think I was GS uppercutted, Long Sword'ed, Hammered, and blown up by the Switch Axe more last night than I have been ever before. Some of it was my fault of course, the standard rule of "leave the head to the Hammer, leave the tail to the Switch Axe" was forgotten by me a couple of times and I would get in the way, but sometimes it just felt like I couldn't do a damn thing without being sent flying hehe.

Remember, though, that hoping for specific charms would more than likely lead you to untold levels of frustration. I remember the discussion a few pages ago about how your character is somewhat locked into a particular "table" of charms that he can get as drops. I believe that feature is still a part of the WiiU. You'd be a lot better off twiddling around with gear, and then just having charms as a wildcard. That's, at least, how I keep MY sanity when building skillsets on my hunters :)

That's why I want to tables, so I can roll a character on a specific table and get the charms I want. There's an app out with a method that let's you check which table you're on. I just need to tables to pick one :P

Looks like they might finally add Raviente to a non Frontier game given the size of monster snaking around at the end of the trailer. Well, or use the move set whole sale or piece meal. They already did that with Alatreon sharing a hell of a lot moves with the MH2 elder dragons.

Yeah, I think I speculated in another thread that the thing looked a suspiciously lot like Ol' Rav, in a cool new shade of black.

It's kinda funny, I think it was only last week how I voiced my desire to see, and get the opportunity to brutalize, Raviente in a fresh release.

Looks like Capcom listened to me guys.

Just booted up the demo on the Wii U. There are 2 hunts, one labelled as "Easy" which is a Lagombi and another labelled as "Hard" which is a Plesioth. Upon choosing you get to choose from any of the weapon types. Going to start a hunt now.
