So i'm on Windows 7 and trying to manually install some drivers for an old digital microscope

when i go to update the driver i point it to the folder where the drivers are located but it just says it couldn't find anything

is there a manual install that is actually manual for drivers in win 7?

any help would be much appreciated

Most likely Windows 7 is saying it can't find anything because there are no Windows 7 (or XP or 2000) compatible drivers available.

How old is this hardware? What OS version was current when it was new?

    it's pretty old

i have xp drivers for it though, are those not new enough for win7 to recognize?

If you open the folder containing those drivers in Explorer and look for .INI files, and right-click an .INI file, do you have an option to "install"?

(You may need to edit Windows Explorer options so it stops hiding file extensions.)

Do you have 32-bit or 64-bit Windows? This matters a lot, because you need corresponding 32- or 64-bit drivers.
