FF:CC help (playing with GC controllers)

I'm going to ask this here in G&T because the person that knows how to do this is probably here:

a friend bought FF:CC without realizing he needed a GBA per person. However, we do have access to a GBA + link cable.

I remember that there's some glitch/trick where you can play with 3/4 GC controllers, minus being able to manage your spells/etc on the fly. I've already tried google (all store listings for the game), and gamefaqs doesn't have it either. Would anyone here remember how to pull this trick off?

The trick is, 4-5 gamecubes, 3-4 gameboy players, and 4-5 TV's. I knew of a link that had directions, but I can't recall what it was.

I don't recall any such trick.

I do know one thing, FF:CC and TLoZ:FSA are two of the best games for the GC.

If it helps, it involved some sort of hot-swapping the GBA with a GC controller.

If all else fails, I'm just going to tell him to go get another link cable and a new GBA if they want to do 2 player.

Yes but you need to make your own cable.
