Sherlock! "The game is on!"

edited December 2010 in Social Entropy++
So tonight, people [strike]un[/strike]lucky enough to live in the UK get to watch the first past of the awesome looking new BBC miniseries Sherlock.

2q0kdhj.jpg

Basically it is a modern 'reimagining' of Sherlock Holmes set in the present day.

It is created by Steven Moffat (current head writer of Doctor Who, who also created the awesome Jekyll)) and Mark Gatiss (co-creator of The League of Gentlemen, also a writer on Doctor Who) so it is basically guaranteed to be awesome.

It is on tonight at 9:00pm! Everyone should watch it and then we can talk about how awesome it was and how much we loved it.

Here is the BBC website that is a bit barren: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00t4pgh

And here is the sweet trailer so that we can get excited and so that people in the USA and other parts of the world can feel sad that they miss out:

Holmes is played by a man named Benedict Cumberbatch. That is the most English thing I have ever heard.

In any case I am pretty sure that it will be shown on BBC America at some point

It is a fairly high-profile drama series from one of the BBC's best writers.

This is interesting because I always think that American shows use poor cameras. It must be some sort of conversion issue.

Well I don't think it is a thing nowadays but I think it is something to do with how when US shows are converted to PAL they end up being really yellow or something?

dang, this looks pretty sweet. sherlock kinda reminds me of the main dude from merlin. pale skinny brits with funky hair all kinda blend together for me

i caught up with Luther last month, which was another excellent bbc series. it was kinda like sherlock holmes, if holmes was a sexy black dude and watson was a smoking hot psycho lady. love idris elba so much, hope it comes back for a second series
