    Thread title should also inform everyone to use Wutai server (that's what I did).

    I still can't log into the game. I suspect I'll be able to do it tomorrow, but will have to suffer with people spamming all the livelong day.

    Does FFXIV have /shout?

    Ah ha, I got in the damn game finally. For those of you who got keys, but can't get past the server error message at http://entry.ffxiv.com/busy/ , go to http://member.square-enix.com/na// and input it there.

    Finally wised up and opened some ports. Now my downloader is cruising along at 300-400 kb/s.

    Guess I'll see if I can get a key in the morning.

    Btw you can use other torrent programs to bypass the updater, all you need to do is open up the torrents using the program (Vuze, bittorrent, etc) then go to the

    \Users\<YOUR PC NAME>\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads

    Folder and open the updater as an administrator. It won't open the updater but instead allow permission for your torrent program to start downloading. Pretty damn cool.

    Actually it isn't. It just says to use a torrent program. When I did it gave me an error saying it didn't have permissions. I found out the second part on my own, so please don't assume I don't read. Thanks!

    Where do I find the torrents for it? I understand everything else, just not sure where the torrents are located.

    Also, I'm pretty noob at torrenting, so there is that.

    Edit: Think I found them. Are there 4 of them?

    There are 4 in the folder, but 2 of them tossed errors, mainly you need to download the: H2010.08.30.2000 one

    The game is pretty fun, but there's a bit of lag while managing menus. I gotta say I'm impressed with the performance on my laptop. I might buy it on release after all!

    Name is Turkey Fried on Wutai. I'm just learning the ropes today, but I'm up for any groupings tomorrow.

    The game itself *is* downloading. There's no actual MMO, unless you consider our peer-to-peer connection to be "Massively Multiplayer Online", in which case you'd be right.:winky:

    The account section to input the key is @ http://account.square-enix.com The link in the e-mail will make you hit the busy screen.

    The installer downloaded at 1.7MB/s... not bad for a site getting hammered.


    edit: I'm genuinely curious if anyone at Square-Enix knows how bittorrent works. Their updater never actually connected to any peers for me. Had to download using a torrent client.
