I Can no longer run TF2 at 1680x1050 with a frame rate high enough to deem pleasant. I have around $300 to focus towards an upgrade but I am unsure which area to focus on.
Is my current setup, which hasn't changed from 2007. I enjoy high res gaming. I have attempted to lower the resolution, and while that fixed the frame rate issue, it just doesn't look right to me
I Could upgrade my processor from dual core 2.66 to quad core 2.88
I have done some reading and it seems like a newer 3d card is the ticket, but I really wanted a second opinion

I would say video card, maybe a 5770 or a 460. and OC the processor.
Your core speed on the CPUz looks screwed up too, It should be reporting 2.66ghz, not 1.55ghz. That might be a problem right there. your multiplier is only showing 6, when it should be showing 10. I have an E6420 with a multiplier of 8, yours should be higher than mine.

That's just Intel SpeedStep at work, which will knock the multiplier down to x6 on idle.

ahhh must be a setting somewhere. I've never turned that on or even knew about it! I'd still recommend the graphics card and an overclock on the processor.
Your in the same spot I'm in, one good graphics card and processor upgrade left before its time to switch to the i series chips.
