    Oh hi there [CHAT]

    Veggies are delicious

Recently I have acquired a love for purple onions, even though I used to hate them as a kid

    I got smarter

You could also try going out to one of those restaurants that serve the dreaded "foreign foods" and have a friend with a broader palette order for you and not tell you what it is until you've put it in your mouth, so you don't have a chance to prejudge it like a petulant child.

I mean, as long as your friend isn't the sort of ass who would order something like poison blowfish or chocolate salo just to fuck with you.

    This is immensely scary.

Like that one show where the mentally insane person goes to different parts of the world trying different cultural foods. It gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

But damn, I wish I had more of a choice on which foods I liked.

I've never had kimchi, and the Wikipedia article on it really gives me no data on whether I might think it, as a whole, would be good or not, because basically it defines kimchi as "any of any number of dishes largely consisting of vegetables". It could taste like any damn thing as far as I know.

    purple/red onions are pretty great
    onions in general really

they are excellent with any sort of meat
if I am eating a meat dish that does not in itself incorporate onions, I will cut some up, rinse them in cold water and add some lime and cilantro

    edit: also garlic

yeah, I keep a pack of some really strong gum on me most of the time

Look at it this way, there is a 99.9% chance that whatever bullshit you would be eating otherwise is more likely to kill you than whatever somebody could potentially order you at a halfway decent non-American food restaurant.

You know what the best place to get a disproportionately high veggies:meat/carbs ratio is

    Chipotle

Carnitas is the best, and then just tell them to keep piling on the veggies

They can't tell you no and best of all they don't charge you extra at the register, unless it's guacamole

Have I mentioned my love for guacamole? I love guacamole

There was a place called James's back when I used to visit my friend down there, they had the best tortillas and chile rellenos

Sadly I do not think it exists anymore and I heard it was a front for the Mexican Mafia or something, but you can always check

    Why is that?

Also, no chicken fries left :(. But it's OK! I made a fresh sandwich with that thin cut chicken and some pepper-jack cheese. Here is the kicker: on wheat bread! I figured it can't be that bad and I heard somewhere that white bread isn't as healthy. So I am trying something new guys!

I assume you mean you regret not liking avocados more than alcohol, rather than everyone around you loves avocados more than alcohol.

I just got this imagine in my head of a high school party being held at a house where the parents are out of town, and things start getting real wild when a couple of dudes in backwards baseball hats roll in with a bushel full of avocados.

You just have to find what you like and, pro-tip, it probably isn't what people will hand you at a party.

I tried beers with my cousins in Denver. Didn't like Fat Tire, Sam Adams (Pale Ale and Boston Lager), Corona, Yuengling, Laughing Lab Scottish Ale, could tolerate Skinny Dip. Had slightly better luck with mixed drinks- Gin and Tonic and Crown and Coke were tolerable, and Bloody Mary was the best of those (edit: and the only one I'd drink of my own volition rather than socially).

I liked wine even less than beer. I haven't tried a lot of them, however, but I'll be joining one of my friends on a wine tasting thing he's going to.

Iirc Fat Tire is pretty flavorful (read: if you aren't used to beer it takes a lot of getting used to).

If you liked Skinny Dip you might try Blue Moon. Lighter beers tend to be easier to get into. Leinenkugel Summer Shandy is basically beer lemonade, which is probably a lot tastier than it sounds.
