Board Games - Arcana has pretty cards and it's a fun game!

For a minute there, I was really struggling to figure out how this was in any way related to the Cold War. Says something about what media I consume, I guess.
Well, this looks like it might be tasty. I signed up for the contest because, well, why not?

I made a game, it has penguins in it. It's pay what you like on Gumroad.

I've played it one player 2x, once it was dead easy, the second time I didn't make it to the last room. But still fun both times.
Overall, not a bad game by any means but I can't imagine there evering being a case where I would rather spend that chunk of time playing it again instead of an 18xx game.
I would compare it to Pillars of the Earth in that there's far more moving parts than the actual gameplay warrants. After the first couple turns you realize (in both games) that it's actually fairly simple but you still are stuck going through all the needlessly elaborate motions. (in the case of Pillars of the Earth: just play Caylus instead. So much better)
Now that I've completed Arkham as a whole, and BSG: Exodus is a ways off (as is Mansions of Madness), I want to get another board game. I just can't decide which.
I'm torn between 1001 Arabian Knights and Civilization, or looking for a good "railroad building" game. I've pretty much stuck to Fantasy Flight in my initial board game geekery here, but I know there are other really good companies out there -- Catan, Caraconne, and especially Dominion are staples of my play group. So I'm just kind of looking for opinions here.
Well what type of game are you looking for?
While this thread is still up, check out the OP. There are some good suggestions there. It should be the second post that shows you all about the people that post here.
Do you mean Tales of the Arabian Nights? Just a personal observation, it's more of an experience than a game. Things are highly, highly random, and making decisions which seem to make sense don't necessarily result in a logical conclusion. With the right group it could be great fun, but don't expect something like Civilization from it.
