The only mod that I hold in higher regard and hope I see one day in Source is the Specialists.

    Mmmm, yeah.

    You screwed something up somewhere.

Delete your FA:S directory from Steam. Download and install 1.0. Download and install 1.0->1.0c patch. Download and install 1.0c->1.0d patch. Problem solved.

What was the name of that mod that came out before the Specialists that everyone was waiting for and was hyped up to fuck as being amazing? It was also John Woo inspired shooty divey action. And it had a 1 on 1 vs mode where everyone took turns to watch the gunfights and then the winner went on the fight the spectators. And it had that awesome mode where everyone just went through a long map filled with AI controlled "Mooks" ?

Opera was fantastic in every way except it was buggy as fuck and crashed all the goddamn time. Loved the mook fights though.

shit I beta tested for DC. it was pretty cool with its dismemberment and crap.

the guy who ran everything was a total tool though. biggest ego ever and it killed the team in the end.

the ftp server for the team was full of pictures of himself. like a giant folder full of shots of his face for no apparent reason

The menu music for DC was twenty seconds of Safety dance over and over and over. I hated that song for years. Fun mod though.

Hahahaha, that's really strange. I miss all the old Half-Life mods. I was hoping most of the big ones (FA, Desert Crisis, The Specialists, Front Line Force, Global Warfare, and a few others) would make it to Source.

Likewise, anyone here ever play Jaykin' Bacon? Probably one of the most ridiculously fun games I have ever played.

    http://hl2jks.superfundungeonrun.com/

I don't know if the download link on there still works, but I know there is one somewhere out there on the internet because I downloaded it earlier in the year (unless it went away since then).

I'm glad someone else knows about it. Having all the weapons, doing flips everywhere, taunting constantly was so much fun. Some of the most fun ever had gaming.

Would anyone be down to orchestrate a game of Jaykin Bacon, actually? Or has everyone here played it?

I remember this HL1 mod that was a bunch of single player levels.

Was pretty good but there was some kinda creepy anime textures on a few walls later on.
