I'm up for helping with NG+ shenanigans at some point.

Mostly gotta do all those NPC events I missed the first time around, namely Tatsuki's. Not sure if I want to bother with Mephistopheles.

Interestingly, while I was blue phantoming for the first time in that guy's PBWT 1-3, we did not get invaded once.

And yes, being able to rate people for PvP would be absolutely horrible. Hell, as it is I'm surprised by the time I logged off last night I didn't get any PSN hate messages or something. Doesn't mean there won't be some when I get home tonight though.

As it is, I think I was a little too eager, as soon as I'd see them start spawning in, I'd go in swinging and on one of the last BPs I noticed that he didn't seem to take any damage until he fully materialized anyway, so I was probably wasting stamina by attacking too early.

Also, because I was coming in from the side, I never did get any backstabs... obviously that didn't matter though.

I'm not sure how long this will last, but on NG+ the Northern Regalia is just *destroying* things. So damn ridiculous. Yeah I know it can't be buffed, but it doesn't need it. Of course, it also doesn't have knockdown, which is could become a slight problem further in I suppose. After I finished my BP farming last night (got decent souls for that too), I went ahead and completed 4-1 (I only really went in to get the two colorless souls from the bird girl). When I got Adjudicator doubled over, I killed him in that stage... about 5 or 6 two-handed Northern Regalia swings... on fucking NG+. Just insane.

Really I suppose I need to get to 1-3 as soon as possible to rescue Yuria so I can get Soul Sucker learned...

I'm getting a bit burned out on DS.

I've played through all the bosses twice now, three times in some cases.

I got up to my ng+ maneater on my faith character, and it wasn't that hard....I just kept getting stunlocked with nothing I could do, which is genuinely cheap because you can't dodge it (or you die from falling off). And eventually I died from falling off.

Instead of trying to figure out how to beat it, I turned off the machine because I was bored. A day earlier I would have been raring to go.

Time for a break I think, else I'll burn myself out totally.

I suppose my only 'real' goal right now is to try to get the full completion trophy. In fact, I need to review what all I need for that honestly. I know you have to get every spell, every miracle, a max version of all of the different stone type weapons and some other stuff that I can't remember at the moment.

So... not sure entirely how I'll go about that but eh.

Yeah, I'm good with the unique weapons once I kill Old Hero again and make the LSoS. I believe I figured out I can even get all the Miracles this run, so that leaves max of most of the stone types and the rest of the spells.

I haven't even actually started on most of the stone type weapons, I just took a lot of the random ones you find already at +1 or +2 and started leveling those.

I did finish my Sticky Compound Longbow +5 though. Thing beats out my Lava Bow and White Bow pretty handily.

I had started some BP Skeleton farming the other night, started getting sick of it pretty quick and didn't play yesterday, thought I was getting kind of burned out on Demon's Souls. For lack of things to do, I decided to boot it up again today and start BP Skeleton farming again, full stack of 99 Fresh Spices at 3 spices per run, so 33 runs. When I was about 2/3rds of the way done, I had 2.6M souls and decided to level my Luck the rest of the way to 30 and am trying to get my Magic and Faith both to 30, put the rest towards that.

I continued farming and with 15 spices left, so the 28th run I got my Pure Bladestone!

The full completion trophy feels more within reach now... though I need to farm the manta rays in 4-3 for Chunks of Cloudstone to finish my Dark shield. Ugh.

Then all I need are some Shards of Faintstone, which I can buy from the filthy woman if need be, expensive but I'm pretty sure I only need 10, so one BP Skeleton run handles that.

Suckerstone chunks I farmed yesterday from the slugs in 4-2 while I was doing my BP Skeleton runs. So all I have left is Marrowstone... which is going to be a pretty big pain in the ass, granted. Probably not as much as Pure Bladestone though.

Of course, then I need to beat the game a few more times for the boss souls I need for various spells, but that's not a problem. Woot!

Something to keep in mind about the trophies is that with the unique weapons all you have to do is hold them, you yourself don't have to make them. If you've got someone around who has the Needle of Eternal Agony and you need it for a trophy, Blue Phantom up and hop in a game with him, have him drop it, then after the game autosaves give it back. You'll be golden.

I got my pure bladestone as well, also a much needed boost to lvl 200 soul level. That level is absolutely no help to the 4-1 BP, fucker heals himself too much, then i get bored of hitting him and go beat the game again.

Now all i need to do is beat the game two more times so i can get all the spells, and get pure moonlight stone and 3 chunks of marrowstone, shouldnt be too tough.

Oh I'm aware of that. Doesn't do me much good though.

Pure Bladestone is the hardest of it anyway though, so I may as well do it myself at this point.

I've been doddling around in this again, a little bit at a time. Nowhere near the hardcore addiction I used to have.

I beat maneater with some terribly cheap tactics, then 5-2, 5-3 and both garl vinlands.

Now I'm halfway through upgrading a blessed great axe. Got it to + 3 so far.

Let me just say. It's damage makes the mirdan hammer look like a joke. And you can't block it with a shield either.
I mean you could try certainly. It just wouldn't work.
And most of it's attacks can't be interrupted. Whereas the hammers most certainly can. It's attacks have a huge hitbox too, you don't need to lock on to fight with it.

this thing was only +3 and it tore both garl vinland's apart on ng+. Ate them alive. The hammer nearly got me killed. It's already doing more damage than the meatcleaver. At +5 I bet it's going to outdamage the meatcleaver even with a buff.

Don't underestimate this weapon. If you have a hammer and are thinking "this is all I need" you are playing with flame toss and thinking you don't need firestorm.

I have been thinking about other builds I wanted to try... heavy faith was one, 'pure' mage was another, mostly pyromancer type. But yeah, with the heavy faith build I was thinking of Blessed Claymore or Blessed Great Axe... both seem pretty awesome.

    My faith is 40.

Dranyth, from what I've read, the great sword is (hah) great but it's attacks are interruptible. It has better knockdown, or knocks down on more hits, or something, to make up for this. But it's attacks are interruptible. I find this a big downside. I don't have direct experience with a great sword though, unless the meatcleaver counts.

The great axe has direct hit for extra damage, has slightly less range, and it feels like 80 or 90% of its attacks are uninterruptible. In fact I don't actually recall a swing being interrupted when using it.

This can be dangerous if you are reckless with it in pve, but in pvp, the guy who gets knocked down is the guy whose going to die soon.

Also the roll aoe with the great axe seems to be especially uninterruptible, whereas for example I've been interrupted with the meatcleaver before.

Be aware guys that the great axe requires two pure faithstones at maxe level, and a whole ton of chunks and shards.

You also want a max stam bar if you intend to do the full three hit r1 combo with the great axe. Which you want because the last hit sends them flying and puts them down for a long time. Really useful for npc black phantoms, knights, etc.

Morninglord, luckily I wasn't refering the to Great Sword, but the Claymore, which is decidedly better than the Great Sword. Claymore is faster and might have a slightly longer range. But otherwise it does have the drawbacks like interruptible attacks and such. So between the Great Axe and Claymore I'm not sure...

2 Pure Faintstones is fairly simple, you can get both from Urbain's female apostle with 20 Faith or better as long as you talk to her before you rescue Urbain. At worst, you could get it made by NG+, if you didn't get any from the 5-3 Crystal Lizard.

Edit: Board was acting weird... I actually tried to post this hours ago, but apparently it didn't go through.

Finished my +5 Blessed Mace, now I'm left with just the Marrowstone chunks... I'm, not looking forward to this. Apparently they have a horrendously shitty drop rate. I'm not sure what will be easier, killing the 5 mosquitos by the primeval or starting at Leechmonger's stone and running forward across the walkway... probably the walkway. Less encounters with BPs.

Yeah it wouldn't be too hard for a new game.

I'm in NG+ and already got n used those two pure faintstones to get a knight sword and mirdan hammer to +5. Which I don't regret, they're awesome weapons and have served me well. Love the flexibility of the knight sword.

Before I finish farming the world 5 crystal lizards I'm going to get it to black to up the chance of a good drop. I also made a large sword of searching. Cross my fingers. I haven't touched the 5-3 one at all yet, so that should get me 4 good chances.

Amusingly, I got a Pure off of the 5-2 lizard as I had to go through him to get my giant mosquitoes. Granted, this is with 30 Luck and a LSoS as well, PBWT of course.

My 6 Chunks of Marrowstone actually didn't take a long as I feared they might, I think I was farming for about an hour, if that. I decided to kind of do... both. I started at the Leechmonger archstone and ran into 5-2 along the walkway, taking out mobs and mosquitoes along the way. When I got to the shanty town raft, I jumped down to it with Istarelle out (and my Ring of Poison Resistance) and trudged through the swamp towards the entrance of the town to avoid fights. Then I ran out of the entrance towards the Primeval and killed the 5 mosquitoes there, looted and Evacuated to repeat.

On one of the really lucky runs somewhat early on, I got two chunks in one run... then I had a run where only 2 mosquitoes total dropped anything (shards). Still, not bad.

So I only have Miracles and Spells left, the hard part is over, essentially. I'll get Miracles done as soon as I beat the Old Monk and then it'll take me one more full run and part of another run to finish off Spells.

Edit: world 3 down, I stayed offline since I've been doing that to control tendency during my farming anyway. The NPC Old Monk fighter nearly killed me, though I was being pretty careless. My Light Weapon enchanted BBS was doing about 500 per swing and he had a ton of health. I should've used the IC to cast it I suppose...

So the only thing left to do is beat Allant and finish this cycle to start on the next I suppose. I still have 4 spells from Freke and 2 spells from Yuria that I need to finish up the final trophy.

Upgraded the hard drive in my ps3 this weekend and found out that you can't copy saves for this :(

Luckily only ~2 hours lost, and its amazing how much faster you can rip through a level once you have done it.

Question on WT/CT - are the changes only applied the first time you enter a level in a playthrough? or dynamically on each load. I think I had boletaria at pure white before I lost my save, and the dragons were still around in 1-1. Do I need PWCT as well for that?

Actually you can if you do the HD transfer/restore utility, can't remember exactly what it's called at the moment. But, doesn't sound like it was a big deal anyway.

And yes, familiarity is huge in Demon's Souls. You can definitely go much faster... and then you get careless and die to stupid stuff. Don't worry, it'll happen.

As far as PWWT, you were probably originally playing when the event was still going on that made all worlds Pure White. That event is over, so your world probably isn't at pure white at the moment.

NG+ itself is supposed to be the biggest jump over regular at about 40%, every + after that is only another 8%. I believe my current character is at SL 184, one more point and I'll round out Vitality at 40.

Fucking Man-eaters almost killed me last night. Well... the second one almost did. The first got fucking destroyed by my IC Light Weapon'd BBS. The second got some lucky pounces on me while I was trying to just cut him to pieces as well and wasn't really trying to dodge.

Amusingly, the 3-1 boss died before she could even teleport, again to the IC Light Weapon'd BBS, two-handed. And this was on NG+ too, she *almost* got the teleport off because I ran out of stamina, but I got just enough back that I tagged her right before she could teleport and finished her off.

Despite the fact that my Magic/Faith are now 30 each, the ToB still isn't nearly as good as the IC for Light Weapon, it's almost 100 points difference.

Pushed ToB doesn't really come into it's own until 40/40 I hear.

I glitched Maneater on my ng+ run because I couldn't deal with them. I kept falling off.
You can shoot the first one through the fog door. DOn't use the lava bow he'll stumble away. Use a compound long bow + 10.

Then I sneak pounced on the other one from near the brazier, hiding behind the brazier as he flew around looking for me until he lost me again. Then when he would land and stand there I would run up and do it again.

Yeah, I'm aware of that little glitch, though I wasn't aware that the Lava Bow is what screwed it up for me on this character when I went to 3-2 a bit too low level the first time. Because I tried that and he moved, but I'm pretty sure I was using my Lava Bow still then, instead of my Sticky +5 that I had made since.

Speaking of stats... I actually have Str, Dex, Mag, Fai and Luc all at 30. I can damn near use whatever I want really. I'm not sure if I want to continue leveling Vitality to 50 after I hit 40 or not, but since I'm not hard farming souls, I don't expect to have too many more levels coming to me anyway.

At the moment it's not really worth leveling much of anything else... the gains for most things above 30 are bad. I even tested it when I was about to put my last point in Strength. For the Meat Cleaver, which gets S from Str and Dex, my next Dex point (from 30 to 31) was a 2 AP increase. My next Str point (from 29 to 30) was a 5 AP increase. So I did that and the next increase, from 30 to 31 was another 2 AP.

Offhand I can't remember what I did with my second Dragon God's soul... I *think* I got Firestorm and I have Fireball to get for the next one. I know God's Wrath is what I got with the first, for lizard nest farming. So useful.

Speaking of that, in NG+, one God's Wrath wasn't quite enough to kill those fucking lizards in PBWT. Little bastards.

Well, since I had tons of Chunks and lots of Pure Faintstones, I started farming Faintstone Shards so I could make a Blessed Great Axe +5... which is now done. Thing shows 518 Attack Power with 30 Str/Dex/Faith The only thing I have stronger than that is the Northern Regalia at 540 with pure white character tendency.

Thing definitely hits hard... I'm still farming for more shards (and hopefully chunks) to finish my Blessed Guillotine Axe, which I've heard is also fun. I need 30 shards, so hopefully in that time I'll get the 4 more chunks I need, otherwise it'll be off to NG++.

It's just an axe that you can upgrade really - It doesn't have any abilities or anything. It's a pretty fast one-handed axe with a really wide attack arc so it's a pretty decent replacement for those of us who're bored with using curved swords.

You get it by killing BP Miralda in Pure Black, like anyone else's signature item.

It's got kind of a diagonal arc to its attack. Like an exponential that starts out steep then flattens out instead of starting flat and going up. Imagine that curve then squash it slightly, that's the arc it has. So you can turn your character's body around to get it to hit people on the sides very easily and if you are in a narrow corridor it wont hit the walls as easily.

Same attack style as the blessed mace I think. I've only swung the axe around the nexus, but I used the bm tons before I started upgrading the mirdan hammer.

The BM is really stamina efficient so I'd imagine the GA is too.
