Alternate Paper RPG

To start off, All hail the Wizards!

I by no means want to step on their toes (they may well turn me into a Newt or something), however there are other flavors of Paper RPGs I'd love to spend a few hours on aside from the many I am sure will be spent at their wondrous events. Would anyone be interested in putting together a Pathfinder or White Wolf style game? Or will representatives of these fine companies be present with events of their own as yet unplanned and posted? Heck, I have a copy of the Big Eyes, Small Mouth Sailor Moon RPG I haven't looked at in years I could bring along, and I've been dying to try that Buffy RPG if anyone has a quick campaign to run.

Here is the list so far of generous (or masochistic, or crazy) people who have offered to run games for the rest of us silly geese! These are tenative only! Please contact the GM directly to confirm and for more details on players needed Once the fun begins (Friday morning!) I won't be able to keep it up to date. Check out @pax_indie_rpgs while at PAX for the latest info! And happy gaming!

Man... my friends & I used to play BESM all the time back in the day. I still have some of the books, too. Let me know if you're interested in running a game. I'd love to join.

While I haven't played BESM, I would totally be down for WoD or some other paper RPG's going down. I have a couple people coming with me that could most likely be convinced too.

I was planning on running a one-shot session of Vincent Baker's latest game, Apocalypse World. As an Australian, I feel I am the most qualified candidate to run a game where everyone is trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic nightmare world.

Also if you tip me, I will say "crikey" a whole bunch

You might want to look into Burning Wheel, too. I'm itching to try it (not necessarily at PAX) because I've heard good things about it.

I would love to get in on some of this action as a player. I don't really feel like I could GM any non 4th edition D&D games though :( I totally could bring the buffy rpg books however. I would definitely try out gurps rifts anima or paranoia as well :) plus everybody loves some old school WoD action. :)

I recommend CthulhuTech, its system is rather elegant and there's a lot of story telling potential in the premise. It's a personal favorite ;)

Now that I think about it; I think I'm supposed to be GM'ing a table at the C4 Comic Convention this year. If I can get enough people who are down, I would totally be up for running a game after hours or when there isn't anything else I'm interested in going on.

I know sandstorm studios will be running Cthuhlutech and Eclipse Phase demos on top of their board/card games. I'm hoping Luke will be running Burning Wheel, Mike will be running Cyberpunk, and Chris will be running Dragon Age, but I have no insite on any of those hopes.

Great! Thanks for the info. Uploading to the matrix.

If they have set times/places for the demos we'd love to post them here for all of the ravenous RPG players to consume.

If you are of the kind that likes humor, anime. and random events tables, I suggest MaidRPG.

That was the other thing I was going to maybe run a game of! Maid Board Game, specifically, since I find the structure of that scenario is helpful to getting people into the swing of Maid.

I haven't figured out exactly when yet, but I'm going to be running Savage Worlds at some point. I'm going to run the Pine Ridge Horror adventure that just came out from Silver Griffin Games.

Also, I'm all for trying out some Cthulhutech.

I would be willing to run an unofficial game of Desolation if at leased 3 people were interested. Its a post-apocalyptic fantasy game using the Ubiquity system (d2 dice pool). I'll be there all three days. I would also be up for running some retro rpgs (Shadowrun 2e, Vampire the Masquerade or Dark Ages) or All for One (3 musketeer monster hunting, also Ubiquity) if I can get my hands on it in time.

I dont have the book for All for One yet, thats all I was saying. I should have it in a week or two. I have plenty of Vampire books and I'll see about throwing together some oWOD Vampire seeing how that seams to draw the most interest. After all I don't want to run 5 games just one maybe two.

I'm not sure if anyone is interested, but I could really go for some Legend of the Five Rings or 7th Sea. Hell... it's been years since I ran it, but I'd even be willing to run a game of 5 Rings if there was enough interest.

Of course we don't want anyone trying to run 5 games, we're just getting a feel for interest. Once we know what people are able/willing to run we can put a call out for players and let the GMs set times/places for the ones with the most interest.

This running list has sent me searching the internet for information on several games I've never had the pleasure of playing. Paranoia sounds like a blast! But I do miss the Darkness.....

    Cyberpunk 2020

So, as I brought it up, if people are up for it, I'll run a MaidRPG game.

Games I would play in are as follows:
    CthulhuTech
Maid RPG (were someone else to run a game)
    Paranoia
    Pokemon Tabletop Adventures
WoD (Vampire the Masquerade, Dark Ages)

edit: wait, I didn't put Dark Heresy here? HERESY!

I'd be interested in playing Pokemon Tabletop Adventures.

I'll have a VtM (2e?/Revised?) game ready for after the hall closes (friday or sat TBD) with 7 pregens but I don't want more than 5 players. I'll probably have to leave by 11pm as my wife turns into a pumpkin. I'll grab a table hopefully a hour or so before the hall closes and have a sign of some sort.

I can also GM Paranoia. I kinda did, poorly, at PAX 08, and I have a greater understanding of the many ways I can fail as a GM. If I do this at PAX 2010, it'll probably be very similar to 08 -- roughly half the time spent making characters and discussing Paranoia, and the other half of the time playing a sample adventure.

I'd love to do that again. Even if everything goes exactly the same, oops-GM-screwed-up-lets-redo-that parts and all, it'll be AWESOME.

I'm a bit hesitant to mention it because I haven't decided yet, but I was actually thinking about whipping up an Automata game. I'm not so sure I want to get bogged down for a long time playing an RPG and... well, I'm very lazy about this sort of thing and I haven't put the work in yet. Still... such a rich world and this would be the perfect venue to run something in.

Probably running it in GURPS as it's just about the only RPG system that hasn't been sold off and ruined.

Mike, just make pre-generated characters, have a bunch ready, assign them randomly (this is Paranoia after all) and run with it!
Remember, in Paranoia the GM can't make a mistake! That would mean the Computer is wrong, and the Computer is never wrong! What are you, some kind of Commie Mutant?
