Under the heading of better late than never I recently found out I'll be going to PAX and if there is interest I'd be willing to running a game of Eclipse Phase after hours. So if there is post here or swing by the Sandstorm Booth where I'll be running demos and let me know!

I can also GM Paranoia. I kinda did, poorly, at PAX 08, and I have a greater understanding of the many ways I can fail as a GM. If I do this at PAX 2010, it'll probably be very similar to 08 -- roughly half the time spent making characters and discussing Paranoia, and the other half of the time playing a sample adventure.

I'd love to do that again. Even if everything goes exactly the same, oops-GM-screwed-up-lets-redo-that parts and all, it'll be AWESOME.

Mike, just make pre-generated characters, have a bunch ready, assign them randomly (this is Paranoia after all) and run with it!
Remember, in Paranoia the GM can't make a mistake! That would mean the Computer is wrong, and the Computer is never wrong! What are you, some kind of Commie Mutant?

Ok, we've got the interest generated, and with a schedule to plan against, let's start planing!

If you are willing to run a game, and have posted here, I'll move that post to the top. Include the day and time you'd be available, how many players you're willing to take on, and any details like "pregen characters". We can have interested players post here, or PM you to join (your choice), and I'll update the post with games full/open status.

Freeplay area seems to be open 10am-1:30am Friday and Saturday, 10am-6:30pm Sunday.
As a first time PAX goer, I have no idea how hard it is to get a table there. Does anyone know?

A few indie game fans and designers from the Seattle area are planning on running games for anyone interested in some indie RPGs. We'll be posting to a twitter account while at PAX to let people know about games being organized: http://twitter.com/pax_indie_rpgs.

Someone upthread mentioned Luke (Crane) with regards to Mouse Guard and Burning Wheel, unfortunately last I heard he wasn't going to make it. I can, however, do a mean Luke Crane impersonation and run his games.

We'll likely have people willing to run:
Burning Wheel - Fantasy adventure where you fight for what you believe
Mouse Guard - You guard the mice territories from threats large and small
0hunters - Bounty hunters in space
Gun Thief - Dark stories of bad people
Fiasco - Coen brothers style dark comedy
Blowback - Spy action in the style of Leverage or Burn Notice
Ribbon Drive - Road trips and music
Dungeon World - Old school dungeon crawling based on the Apocalypse World rules
Dresden Files - The official game based on the books.
Freemarket - Posthuman science fiction roleplaying
Dungeon Construction Kit - Make the dungeon as you explore it.
Apocalypse World - Kickass people in a demolished world.

If any of those look good, reply to the pax_indie_rpgs twitter account during PAX or stop by the RPG tables in the room sponsored by The Dreaming.

I'm definitely interested in running a Legend of the 5 Rings game. I'm still working on the where and when, but I can easily piece together an adventure for 4 players... pre-gen characters to make things a bit easier (though, I'd be willing to take "substitutions" if anyone wanted to make their own).

    This is all fantastic!

Don't forget, the Tabletop HQ will have a whiteboard for posting messages, where you can write things such as "Pickup RPGs going on in Room 302. Text 555-5555 for info"

Also, we'll be encouraging Twitter users to utilize and search for #ttlfg as a hashtag in their tweets.

So Tweeting "Mouse Guard RPG starting up in Rm 302 at 2 pm #ttlfg" would be a helpful way to net players for your game (whether that tweet comes from @pax_indie_rpgs or otherwise).

As for getting space to play -- the general flow has been that ample space is available for you to set up whenever and wherever you like -- UNTIL Expo Hall closes. After that, the TT freeplay rooms start to fill up fast, as all open space is available on a first come, first serve, first claim basis, as people who previously spent much of their day at the Exhibitors head down to Tabletop. You may want to consider this fact into your RPG start time plannings.

Sandstorm will be running RPGs in room 212. I'll post a schedule here in a few days, but for now, we'll be providing tables and GMs for the following RPGs --

Eclipse Phase (4 hour game) - GM'd by one of the designers!
    CthulhuTech (4 hour game)
    Dragon Age (2 - 4 hour game)

The Sandstorm room will be open from 10 AM - Midnight and we're right next to TableTop HQ.

If you're interested in a specific time and have a group of 4 or more people, drop us a line at Contact@Sandstormllc.com and we can see if we can get a GM for you!

(We'll also have the newest Eclipse Phase and CthulhuTech books on sale!)

Full details of all of the Tabletop locations will be revealed in due time. But, yes, TT HQ will be in Room 213. This is NOT the room it was in last year -- it's rather on the opposite side of the same set of escalators. Tabletop's hours are the same as PAX itself, no earlier or later. We usually stop checkouts within the last 60 to 90 minutes, and start sweeping the free play areas and encouraging people to finish up in the last 30 minutes or so.

If anyone needs a player for any of the following games, I am definitely willing to be there:
    Pathfinder
    D&D 3.5
    D&D 4e
    Dresden Files
    Call of Cthulhu
    Dragon Age
    Deadlands

I have never played Deadlands, Dragon Age or CoC before, but I am more than willing to learn by the time PAX rolls around. Also, I would be willing to DM any game on the list except for Deadlands, Dragon Age or CoC, but I cannot promise to DM them well.

Looking at the schedule, and adding the fact that I really want to play CthulhuTech and some of the WoTC stuff, I don't think I can fit running my game under the normal schedule.

Would anyone here be up for Playing Pine Ridge Horror (Savage Worlds) on Thursday night somewhere?
(Possible locations would be Sheraton lobby, Someone's hotel room, local resturant)

I have a couple guys coming with me that I can finagle into playing so only really need 2 or 3 more people.

Thanks for posting those to the master sched Lackey the only thing I noticed that if you could change the listing to show both games for EP and CT on Fri and Sat, right now only the 11am games are listed not the 4pm ones.

Also since either myself or a faithful minion will be running the EP games and I either wrote or helped edit both scenarios for Gencon 09 and the five from Gencon 10 are there any particular scenarios anyone wants to call now? I'll probably decide on my own within the next few days so I can prep and get the pregens made but if there's a specific one at a specific time someone wants to do call it out now!

Short description of each of the games
    The seven we got are
Bump in the Night - People are waking up with a strange bump on their heads and then disappearing a few hours later.

Inconvenient Death - You wake up to find you've died. Can you discover what killed you and what you were supposed to be doing before it's too late?

Strange Bedfellows - Your team must investigate why members of a certain political faction are meeting with a disgraced Exhuman scientist.

Doctrine - Doctrine is a scenario for Eclipse Phase in which the player characters must root out a traitor to Firewall.

Ego Hunter - Your job is to track someone down--problem is, they've sleeved into a new body.

Through the Looking Glass - The exoplanet survey team missed their scheduled check-in. Your team must go through the Pandora Gate and find out what happened.

Continuity - Continuity is a starter scenario where the player characters are pursued by previous versions of themselves—now now carrying a terrible nanovirus.

So, I have two friends who will be playing MaidRPG, which means that I have 3 spots open. Since both of them are enforcers and I don't know their schedule yet, I don't know what time this game will happen, but as soon as I do I'll post it here.

Character generation takes about 5 minutes, or about 30 seconds if you use this online thing. The settings for that character generator are as follows: choose the first five fields in whatever manner you want, two qualities, relationship (lighter game), enable trauma, enable weapon. If you roll something you absolutely cannot roleplay, I'll allow re-rolls as I see fit.

Type of the game will be random event light-hearted rule of cool.

edit: PM me beforehand if you want in, I don't know how many people will walk up and guarantee nothing if you do it that way.

Remember, locking down a time and place for RPG space may be tricky, as you'll need to be fluid due to the nature of how the Tabletop Freeplay rooms fill up as the day progresses.

Room #304 may be wide open at 2 p.m., but come 7 pm (after Expo hall closes) the Freeplay rooms will start filling up faster with people checking out board games from the Tabletop Library, and unless you've arrived to claim table space and set up your game, all Freeplay room is first-come, first serve.

To help with this, remember to utilize the Messaging White Board in the Tabletop Headquarters (Rm. 213) to write where you've set up, and that you're looking for more players. Also, if you have access to Twitter, follow tweets from @pax_indie_rpgs and @pax_tt, and also utilize/search for the #ttlfg hashtag (Tabletop - Looking For Group), to put your game's definitive details out there or see who else out there is currently looking for open gaming.

We plan to project relevant Twitter feeds onto a wall/screen at or or nearby Tabletop HQ (if all goes well), so passersby who don't have access to Twitter in their pockets will still be able to get the message.

Ok as of this minute I will be running all five Eclipse Phase games out of the Sandstorm area (Room 212) which means I won't be getting out much so stop by and say hi if you're interested in the game or just to be friendly. As far as I'm aware the Friday at 4pm game is full and the Sat 11am and Sun 11am are nearly full.

I will be bringing about thirty-two pregens (all of the sample characters from the Core, Sunward, and the quickstart) which have been printed in full color and laminated to make them all nice and durable.
I've got five different scenarios I've prepped and would be happy to run any or all of them.

Additionally I'll be happy to talk about the game, upcoming stuff, or do short demos whenever I'm around and in the booth.

As much as I'd like to play in some of the other games I'll probably be worn out from the ones I'm running and I'm pretty sure my gf will murder me if I spend another minute gaming at PAX....:P

Hope to see some of you there!

My wife has about 10 panels she wants to go see and I think shes more excited to go this year than I am o_O Oh and I "might" be able to run EP quick start Saturday between my two panels if you have too many people signed up. I have noon to four currently open, it will all depend on how much of the expo hall I see on Friday though. I'll swing by Sandstorm before my game to let y'all know. But I was really hoping to play EP, Cthuhlutech, or Dragon Age
