Dustforce! - The best sweeping sim/platform game released in at least 5 years

DUSTFORCE!

A sweeping epic for all ages.

If you don't find my puns convincing then watch this gameplay video.

Epic sweeping action!

It also has some nifty music.

There is a demo here.

For Windows.

The demo includes a bunch of playable levels, 2 playable characters, and a LEVEL EDITOR.

The controls are smooth, the action is appealing, and not too difficult.

No word yet on when and where and how much for the full release.

And just because, here's another gameplay video.

This looks like something I want to play. Downloading the demo now, hopefully I'll be able to avoid the speed issues that seem to be plaguing a lot of users from indiePub.

I think it's a product of the game maker engine. It just runs like shit for a lot of people. Hopefully, since this is just the first early demo, they'll do some work on optimizing it for more systems.

Because it is silky smooth fun when it runs properly.

Is there a way to edit the controls in the demo version without using a third party program? Arrow keys + zxc make me a sad panda.

That's pretty standard for the type. I'm hoping for stick support when a fuller version is released.

    tl;dr: not yet.

It should be noted that the pace is not of the N+ or Meatboy or IWBTG variety. You're graded on combos and completeness, not speed.

Darn. Even if I could just change the keys. The ZXC keys are really uncomfortable to use for me for some reason, so if pad support isn't an option I've been mapping my stuff to RTY for years.

I usually go with qwe when I'm too lazy to plug my stick in. But since zxc is the standard I'm used to it.

But yeah, first demo and all that. Can't hit them all out of the park on the first try.

It has a level editor though!

I played the demo this past weekend. Is it possible to unlock the other characters right now? I'm guessing it involves getting an A on all the levels with both the guy and the girl.

Also, the custom levels are sadistic. That one were you have to dash under a bunch of spikes on narrow platforms? Forget that.
