Emulating GPU features on a CPU

There was a piece of software I found a couple years ago that did this, but I can't recall the name. It let you run things like pixel shaders and antialiasing effects off of your CPU, and let you run games you wouldn't otherwise be able to open due to not meeting graphics requirements. Anyone know of this? It ran under winXP.

the only thing I can think of that does anything like what you're talking about is 3D analyze which allows you to pretend your card supports hardware Transform and lighting. Not sure if this is what you're after though.

3D analyze is the software I was thinking of, but swiftshader actually sounds like it might work better for my purposes. Downloading both now, thanks guys
