So for the last two years, me and a couple other forumer friends who are in local Seattle bands have put on a concert the Thursday night before PAX and invited everyone from Pax to come hang out, hear some great music and party it up with us. The first year, we exceeded capacity at the Rendezvous downtown and last year we packed up The Comet on capitol hill real nice and even had one of the actual Pax bands play (which we later learned wasn't actually allowed).
So this year, we have no official Pax bands, but so far every band we have on the line up has at least 1 forumer in it and one of the "special guests" is a solo project by one of the most glorious of all forumers, but he is a surprise.
Here's the flyer, made by our very own Tonkka:
The Keeper is Tonkka's band and they're some good hard, usually fantasy based metal, listen to them here:

Fused is my band (as you can probably tell from the sig) and we're real traditional heavy metal, check us out here:

Both of our bands are a whole lot of fun to watch and there will be general drinking and dancing and carrying on in a merry fashion! Anyone and everyone who is in town on Thursday should come out and have a blast with us!

if you're over 21 you don't want to miss it! the comet is an easy walk from the convention center, lots of stuff to do right around in case you want to grab dinner beforehand, plus maybe we'll get cupcakes.
(not those cupcakes, but still pretty good ones probably)

There is no possible way I could find cupcakes to live up to those
(sorry you're going to miss it, moe)
(please film yourself kicking yourself)
tell you what: I will print out pictures of mario, tape them to rocks, and put the rocks on your cupcakes
Way to jump on the band wagon, Moe. Everybody wants prosthetic foreheads for their real heads.

If I were a carpenter, I'd hammer on my piglet, I'd collect the seven dollars, and I'd buy a big prosthetic forehead and wear it on my real head.
/excited
I should probably check out the music before the show.
I'm talking about dudes junk.
I'm dragging Shoe to this for the super secret guest.
That is a brilliant idea because I'm pretty sure he hates everything about a show like this. So he will just be seething at us all, hating how loud it is and how drunk we are. I LOVE YOU SHOE.

Truth be told, I was playing Zombies!!! with one of the guys from The Keeper and his friends when that pic was taken months ago. I was pleasantly surprised to see it on the poster!
So this is going to be as good as killing zombies? Sounds good to me, and there is less chance of tripping and having my brains nibbled on.

GREAT now this is gonna be stuck in my HEAD for a week
*31 and sad about not being able to claim "late 20s" anymore.
Our drummer is 32.
I, however, am the youngest and the baldest of any of us.

Is there a senior citizen discount on beer? If so, I am 68.
Scott Kurtz, The Morning After, Aug 31 - 2010
Ha, probably, just act like you can't hear them and just give them $2 for everything.

What is the lowdown on buying beers for the bands? Are there particular bands that should not be liquored up or allowed to eat after midnight?
Do we have to roll for initiative when The Keeper starts a set?
Scott Kurtz, The Morning After, Aug 31 - 2010
No.
Yes.
All bands will be accepting drunk enhancers.

Sir, I like the cut of your jib. <- I don't know what that means, but it sounds like a good thing.
I will be there drinking beverages of the alcoholic variety, and we'll make sure you do too.
Scott Kurtz, The Morning After, Aug 31 - 2010
I keep my jib neatly trimmed, thank you. I seriously guarantee that this is going to be the best time. If anyone doesn't have fun, they should see a doctor.
