Ooooo, pretty. It looks like he might have substantially better 'ups' than his predecessor. I hope so, since clearing multiple buildings in a single leap has always appealed to me.

Awesome. I like how they weren't able to sweep the virus under the rug.
Considering how almost the entire population of manhattan was turned into infected monsters you'd have to need some ridicoulus powers of misdirection to cover that shitstorm up.
i'm excited because it looks SOOOO much nicer, prototype isn't ugly but it's also pretty spartan in terms of visuals. there's a ton going on at any given moment so i can forgive the looks because it's so damn fun to play. to me it's just barely better looking than the first saint's row, which came out in 2006.
the new one looks incredible, especially the new powers and how they developed on the virus mutations. definitely gonna pick it up.
In the first game, you could karate kick a helicopter.
In this one...?
You can uppercut them.
Karate kicks. Pfft, real men elbow dropped helicopters in P1.
Prototype 2 is pretty much a must buy for me already even without any media to hype me up. I adored Prototype 1 and if they're taking that and adding even more neat shit to do, it's already a winner.
First choad that compares P2 to Infamous 2 is getting a punch to the throat.
The only thing I read in that preview that I don't like is that I can't play this game for another six months.
Roll on April 2012.

Hahaha put them down.
That'll be handy. I can pick someone up and go "Now I could put you down if I really wanted to but well I do need something to throw right now and you are right here so..."
Oh oh and you could put down the last guy left alive and bound away.

... a number of other tweaks have been made in response to criticisms of the original. For starters, civilians can now be simply set back down when picked up by accident.
I can't imagine that was ever a criticism made against the game. That's like complaining that helicopters often exploded when kicked.

No that was a frequent complaint when the game came out. I remember it. Because I was going O_o????
So it existed.

I usually just threw people when I picked them up.
I dunno, I would have liked the ability to put people down. Gives those of us who prefer not to be heartless monsters (you know, if you're playing for sort of a redemption angle) something to work with. Hard to justify killing people accidentally to yourself when you're not given an option to show mercy in case you inadvertently pick someone up. Hell, even the Hulk got that ability (after which he'd pat the person on the head--such a nice touch).

I'm a bad person because this is the first memory from prototype that popped into my head.
I had sessions where I went out of my way trying to kill as many as possible. Surfing civilians never gets old
Also, can't wait for the new game. I liked Prototype 1 a lot, but it needed to be fleshed out and it seems the sequel is doing a lot of...fleshing out.
No such thing as enough flesh. Especially not in a Prototype game.
I still pop Prototype into my PS3 from time to time just to run full speed into crowds for a couple of minutes. I love putting on the (otherwise useless) armor and sprinting through crowds, periodically opening and closing the radial powers menu to slow down time and enjoy the carnage.
The visuals are so much better than Prototype. Prototype wasn't ugly, but it wasn't impressive. I'd say this is impressive.

That was so awesome. The part where he looked like he just frame deflected a rocket back at the enemies...GLEE. They also showed an example of the quick switch button, he was clawing a super soldiery looking thing then quickly switched to hammer to knock him into the air then did a power bomb on him.
I also like that they took the "why can't we throw big people" complaint right on board and did something about it.

you can pin people across intersections with horrible tentacle spider webs that tear them apart.
does this count?
from what ive seen of this one, they really seem to be focusing on making the powers biological based and much more focus on having the environmental affecting events originate from the character. like that critical devastator which blasts out tentacles onto a target that then shoot out and grab everything nearby to drag it in and crush the target.
whereas going and getting a pipe means specifically finding some external ground weapon to use in a particular instance.
if they do that sort of thing it'll probably be shooting out a spike from yourself or something.
hulk was a great big angry man, which was great and fantastic and still is. but thats why they did all of that stuff with finding external objects to use in particular instances. since they couldn't have him fundamentally change to do it himself.

Not like it matters, there will probably be like 100 different copies of the video floating around soon enough.

I absolutely can't wait to see what kind of hammery powers they give him this time. Especially now that hammers are the anti tank specialist.
