Like I said, doing something stupid once isn't going to matter, but it's naive to think that because there are so many people playing the game that griefing/trolling is going to go unpunished. If you read the Starcraft 2 B.net policy for infractions, it specifically lays out all of the punishments, from warnings to flat out account closure.

I don't think it's unreasonable to imagine that if you are a repeat offender you're going to find yourself with warnings/24 hour suspensions/etc.

Except this wasn't a repeat offender. This was one guy backstabbing an arguably elitist dickhead once.

And I mentioned the repeat offender bit.

I don't think anyone's claiming that getting reported ten times won't have an effect. Most people are probably talking about the likelihood of some kind of action IN THE CONTEXT OF PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED SINGLE-BACKSTAB.

So today I have been losing, a lot. We're talking double figure losses here.

I finally get a win, some Protoss was going heavy on the Zealots on Desert Oasis, so I went for Mutalisks. He only has a few stalkers out by the time my Mutas hit his mineral line so all his probes go down. I see his Dark Shrine so I build a few Overseers in my base just in time to squash his counter attack.

    He says, "gg lucky man."

Motherfucker tainted my only win today. :(

Don't allow him to drag you down. Is it chance that you saw his building? Maybe. But your actions after that - what you DID with that information - wasn't.

edit: actually wait fuck that forever, no it wasn't even chance that you saw it. He didn't have adequate defenses up, and you took advantage of that hole to disrupt his economy and gain knowledge of that base.

    You won. No luck.

I'm not even sure it was chance I saw his building, I make sure to harass with my Mutas at least right after a larvae spawn (so every 30s at the worst). I was just dumb that I didn't take note of it sooner.

edit: you got it in your edit, fuck that guy

Some guy just kept attacking me with nydus worms filled with troops. He only had 1 base though so my 3 bases worth of zerglings easily kept him from expanding and killed every force he send through.

When he ran out of resources in his base he told me to try something different besides zerglings and quit. o_O

It's not like your units come out with an RNG to determine their strength. There are no dice rolls to decide whether your attacks land or not.

That's why it's strategy. When someone says you got lucky, they are just pissed that they didn't counter properly.

Your build seems different than the one I do (I like Silver's opening)

I push out with 10-11 marines, 1 ghost, and 1-2 marauders. If the protoss is building units and micros well (namely, spreads out his units), he can hold this off but you kill a good portion of his army. If the protoss is teching or doing things like going straight to void rays, he's in trouble.

I will have to try that out, seems like a pretty solid build, or at least it seems like it is better than what I have been doing. Thanks aegis!

It is definitely enforceable. I don't think anyone else is saying it isn't but you. I am saying it is bannable and I am agreeing with people who say you won't get banned for a report or two.

It's when you have repeated reports on the same account that Blizzard will take notice and you'll start to see problems. There is no question that it is enforceable. You think Blizzard has to sit there and go through replays?

It has its counters but I like it if only because I like early pressure so that I'm forcing him to be a nervous wreck while scouting with my army, as opposed to waiting in the dark for his army to come to me. For a more stricter build order in case you were curious, it's just the standard Terran opening (10-12-13-15) with a 2nd Gas on 16. Your wall will also not include your barracks. Instead, build your first 2 supply depots on opposite sides of the ramp, then when your barracks is up, put a bunker down between them. This bunker stops early stalker pressure and is fairly necessary (though, with alot of TvP action going on lately I've been seeing a bunker wall-off become far more common play in TvP than barracks).

First Rax pumps marines until you have enough gas to build a tech lab (not long). Keep pumping marines from it. First 100 gas after that goes to Combat Shield (there is an argument for Stim first), next 50 gas goes to Ghost Academy. While these are building (generally before ghost) you build a 2nd Rax. That Rax builds a Reactor first thing. As soon as the Ghost Academy is done build 1 ghost. The 2nd Rax will pump the rest of the marines that you need. From that point on it deviates...your second upgrade could be Stim, but it could also be +1 if you plop an engineering bay down. You can also pump more marines from the 1st Rax after Ghost is done, or you could add a few marauders. Once you hit 10 marines, 1 ghost, plus a few marauders you push out (this is around the 8 minute mark) and don't forget to include the marines in your bunker as part of the count. This ghost will have enough energy for 1 EMP.

Feel free to expand as you push out at this point in time (since you're putting on pressure) because it's not the most mineral or gas intensive build except at the very beginning. You could also transition into a factory to spend the gas. Or you could just add a few more Rax and keep churning out marauders and marines.
