And on that note, I'm really sad that there's no possible chance of me ever doing Crawmerax, since I don't really play online a lot, and I'm playing a hunter.

Hey Gearbox, if you're listening, offer up something for the other three classes to do in the next DLC!

And I haven't had a lot of luck with Firehawks. They just don't seem to perform as well as a straight fire modded revolver. Maybe I just haven't found the right one.

My siren though...you can pry her Hellfire out of her cold dead hands. Which you will never get the chance to, since she never dies.
Yeah I think my 4.5 fire rate Firehawk is kind of a poor man's Hellfire. Hair Trigger pushes the fire rate up a chunk, so it's probably pushing 5+ in reality, and that can be further increased with a gunslinger mod.

It doesn't proc reliably enough as a 2.5ish fire rate gun, but when you can fire off at double that, it really starts to excel.

Found my first (lvl 34) Hellfire last night, and decided to try respeccing to try out a 25% colldown reduction Catalyst mod. Ended up doing this basically to get at least 1 point in the skills the Catalyst mod provided big boosts to (+4 Pheonix/Radiance +3 girl power/Intuition) and.....holy shit does that rock face.

I set up with a corrosive elemental artifact, so as soon as I kill anything, everything around me is pretty quickly taking all three kinds of damage. Most of those pesky things that rush you (skags, psychos, etc) are dead before I even get a chance to shoot at them. And my phasewalk is on less than a 15 second cooldown, which makes me practically immortal since I heal 75+% of my health....and everything around me continues to get raped by my corrosion/lightning DoT.

Wait till you get Blackout and your Phasewalk cooldown can be less then the duration.

oh shit i had no idea that there was a skill that allowed you to deal out elemental damage during phasewalking. I thought it was right after. I know where the rest of my points is going.

    pretty much that, yeah

only problem is once you've got a good enough loadout there's no real reason to play anymore

craw's the only challenging thing left in the game, thanks to the lack of level scaling

I'm at lvl 48 on PS3 (nearing end of PT2) and I've just noticed something weird. Both myself and my splitscreen co-op partner have noticed when we equip guns the level requirement to use them drops. Like I have a level 32 that drops to 29 when I equip it, a 20 that drops to 19. There appears to be no reason other than equipping it and the drops in level required are not a fixed amt of level. the guns still work the same but we were wondering what was going on? Anybody know anything about this? Sorry if it's been brought up but don't think it has in the last 2.5 threads here on PA.

    Thanks.

True, but it might be a little more interesting than blowing up the same 20 guys to open the same 50 shitty chests.

    seriously

I die a little when I open one of the mere handful of level 60 Lance chests and find the same goddamn pair of Eridian weapons I've found a hundred times already

sorry to break it to you folks who might be switching to Craw instead of Armory runs, but you get the same problem of loads of crappy weapons. 6 oranges drop- 4 are Equalizers and the other 2 are Defilers. want a crappy Volcano? here's 3. also, all the needlers and thumpers you could ever want.

it is actually pretty difficult to hit the back from the hidden space. I recommend playing split screen with a alternate profile ( useful for swaps as well) whom you send up the elevator to distract/ get eaten.

On my siren, with some luck, I can kill Craw in less than a minute, and get a pile of level 55-61 drops.

The same amount of drops from armory farming takes quite a bit longer to get, and is honestly just way more boring.

The important thing to do is to utilize whatever method you choose hundreds of times. There is no enemy other than the RNG, in Borderlands.

Put your DLC in the store on sale now and then like it is on Steam and Live. I might actually buy Moxxie.

Or let me link my boxed game with Steam so I can use that service.

PS - For $10 I almost want to buy the game again just because that's such a ridiculously good game-per-dollar value.

    No.

    But.

It's a UE3 game. There are other games out there using the same engine with demos (Bioshock is one off the top of my head) so you can get a feel for how it runs.

HAHAHA. Oh yeah. It'll deffinitely work. Admittedly I get a lot of major lag when I hit the higher levels. Like it'll run at a solid 30fps (I'm an ex- console gamer and that'll do me) in the beginning then around lvl 25 it'll always start to chug and drop to around 20. I just got my new cpu through the post today and plan on installing it in a short while to see if it makes a difference. It's a 2.9Ghz but it's the best one available to me thanks to Dells' locked firmware.
