Does steam have a demo so I can make sure it runs okay on my computer?
Because I might be buying this when I get home. It was a lot of fun on the PS3, I imagine it would be more fun on the PC.
No.
But.
It's a UE3 game. There are other games out there using the same engine with demos (Bioshock is one off the top of my head) so you can get a feel for how it runs.
Okay so this game is so bought'd, I just hope there are people to play with somewhere out there. Also, is there a schedule of some kind for these awesome steam sales? I really want to get L4D2, but want it on the cheap.

There's usually a midweek madness that goes from tuesday to thursday and a weekend deal that goes from friday to sunday. Other than that, it's pretty much random.
I'm sure there will be a small surge of people who still hadn't bought this until now, including me. Though it's gonna take me a few more hours of DLing before I can dive into it
I never understood why they say that Lilith is best with SMGs. None of her skills are weapon specific, that I could ever tell.
Probably because they have the biggest ROF so you can get more procs on elemental effects, or at least that sounds right.
Probably because her highest damage-dealing COM is Mercenary, which is +60% SMG damage and also +20% ROF from quicksilver, on top of the 25% from your normal points, if you have the best type.
Not to mention it can have SMG ammo regen, which solves the main problem with SMGs.
Also High Velocity solves one of the big problems with SMGs, which is their low bullet speed, and Enforcer helps with accuracy, if you're in to that.
Also SMGs are just about tied with shotguns for the highest damage output weapons, making them a good choice regardless. Hellfires are so good they're borderline broken, unlike most legendaries which are pretty awful.
Borderlands DLC: The Secret Armory of General Knoxx, Borderlands Failed. Paypal charged me. Yaay. Punishment for buying games when i should be working :P
Annoyingly, I bought Borderlands retail, but then I didn't want to go through the DLC hassle with them so I don't have any of it. And I hate discs.
I really should've just bought it on Steam to begin with. Though what's the word on the Securom stuff now? Has it been removed from the main game and some of the DLC or what?
so, if I wanted to be a wanker and buy this on steam, having already owned it on the PC; can I just move my save files to the new folder and basically not lose anything?

Yes, you can. Both use the same save folder and savegame files.
Someone in the Steam thread mentioned a 4-pack buy, but I haven't heard back and it would only save $2.5.
I'm pretty much waiting for some files to finish transferring so I can reboot into windows and buy/install the game
The 4-pack saves $10.18 (buy 3 get one free) but you can't check out if you already own a copy. I tried. The buy as gift button was disabled. I have the Steam version if that matters at all. Kind of a bummer but I guess I can see why they did that.

No SecuROM on the main game an Knoxx (was never on either on Steam). SecuROM 5-machine activation limit remains on both Zombie Island and Moxxi.
Hmm... well, Borderlands and DLC bought. DLC is downloading now. I used that game mod utility someone linked that lets you set some extra options and such. My 27 Hunter save is accessible just fine, didn't have to move it or anything.
Though I've been thinking about starting a Siren. I wonder if I should just try to finish my Hunter game first...
Are there any good resources for character builds? What options are there with Sirens? Sounds like incendiary SMGs and other weapons are perfect for Sirens.

Think Bioshock is a 2.5 engine.
You are correct.
Nevermind then.
Here's a list. I'm sure some of these games have demos:

Still have a couple hours before it finishes, but I'm definitely down.

The single player game is enough to warrant the 10 bucks. Besides, 5 years down the line it'll be a fun game to boot up with your friends.
On the PC anyway, I dunno about the other systems; I'm just assuming that's what you're referring to because of the sale.
Honestly though for that price even if you only ever play it solo, it's a deal you can't beat.

How long is this sale going?
the midweek sales generally hang around until the wee hours of friday morning.
also. Download taking too damn long! 200kb/s is killing me, but the net bill had to be cut in half so a bigger percent of my income could go to steam
Just got my PS3 controller working on Windows 7 as well.
Borderlands here I come.
Is my steam page... could someone invite me to Wangs without Borders?

Steam profile.
Getting started with BATTLETECH: Part 1 / Part 2
Also mouse and keyboard support...if that strikes your fancy.
