A friend and I spent an hour or so trying to help me kill Crawmerax. We finally got it after losing about a billion dollars each in deaths even though we both knew what to do. The total lack of coordination and minimal use of verbal communication made the fight way harder than it needed to be. I went back the next day and tried to solo it for an hour or so, and even as a Siren using the hiding spot I couldn't do it. I decided that after spending five years raiding in WoW(I quit back in November and don't ever want play again) that I had enough of that crap and used Willow Tree to give myself the weapons and shield I wanted.

What's your setups? Cause Curly and I used to craw with little to no communication and it'd take us a little more than 2 minutes to kill him a run.

I got burned out on this game after countless Crawmerax runs without a single Pearlescent weapon. Solo runs, duo runs, 4 player runs, I made them all, never saw anything really worthwhile except for a Pestilent Defiler that was only like a 2 damage upgrade over my other Pestilent Defiler.

Seems like such a waste of time.

Oh, and fuck the Mad Moxxie DLC. Spend 4 hours on a run, only to fail in wave 17 and have literally nothing at all to show for it. Nothing at all. Not a damn thing.

I'm a merc spec Siren with the appropriate elemental weapons and a solid double anarchy, and he was a soldier but I don't know what spec. My main problem was that my Phasewalk ran out before I could get out of line of sight of the adds and/or Craw because I wasn't using the talent that extended Phasewalk time. So I'd run out empty a couple of clips into Craw's weak spots while my friend had aggro, pull aggro and take a hit, Phasewalk towards cover, come out of Phasewalk before I reached cover, and either get killed by Craw or get swarmed by adds. In the meantime my friend would pull back aggro on Craw and survive for a bit, but not before I could kill the adds, regain enough health to engage Craw again, and either he or I would die. I should have gone and respecced, but we just kept doing the fight over and over again until we killed him.

The assault rifle pearl did drop so it wasn't a total waste of time. He had a better one so I took it so it wouldn't go to waste.

I also got seriously burned out after playing about four hours a night for a month straight. Mind you I have a fuckawesome time, hit level 69, did the zombie DLC, made a few billion, found a lot of sweet guns, and shots a LOT of mans. It took me over a month before I felt like playing again.

This is the kind of game that you will put down occasionally, only to come back after a while.

I've got a level 69 of each class and a dozen mule characters full of high level weapons. I definitely didn't do that all in one sitting.

yeah craw ain't no thang if you go at him with proper equipment*

    *mashers

i've soloed him on my soldier without using the ledge hiding spot. the trick is to not leave yourself without a few mobs to second wind off of.

I could get all of Craw's damage zones easily with a double anarchy or a high fire rate high accurate SMG, but I wasn't able to get the one on his back. I'd try hopping out of the zone to get him to move around, but 9 times out of 10 he'd come too far forward and push my face in before I could do enough damage to him. That got old fast and I gave up.

that's when you have your partner grab the aggro from him so you can pop the back spot with a few shots. again, mashers are recommended.

This was when I was soloing him, I probably should have specified that. I watched a few videos of how a siren can use the pillars to LOS the adds and Craw, but with my spec I wasn't able to do that. Yes, I was too lazy to respec to make this fight easier on myself by getting an extra few seconds on phasewalk.
