Ah, I'm not sure about all games, I just noticed a couple of different games people were saying 10.7s caused problems in. Plants vs. Zombies in fact wasn't able to use graphics acceleration in 10.7, it would just crash. Rolling back to 10.6 fixed it for those people anyway.
I guess it's randomly a good thing I'm still on the 10.5s then.
Got to the Roid Rage guy for the mine key and ouch. Died a bunch then stopped playing. I kind of just want to play with others rather than go level up so I can beat him =P. Fun game though, not sure if Hunter was the best choice. I like snipers and I want to be able to do massive damage with them! They all seem decent, but turning invisible would be nice.

Hunter is a lot of fun, just not solo. Then again I say that for every class (even playing with pubs with no mics is better than solo).

Hunter is fine solo, you just have to know how to do it.
As with any character, if you're alone, survivability has to be the first thing you beeline for. Get some health regen as quickly as you can, if you're new to the game.
I'm 27 on my Hunter, entirely solo. But it's been a long time since I've played and I don't remember a lot of what I was going with. Some sniper and lots of revolvers I think. Liberal use of Nightwing since it's amazingly badass, though I don't remember what all upgrades I have for it yet.
I started a new Hunter after losing my old save. I don't ever remember being this bottlenecked at the start of the game: I only have one quest I can do (Bone Head's Theft) but I'm a full two levels lower than I should be to try it. In previous games I would do all of TK's quests and the bulletin board and be ready to go fight Bone Head.
Picked up the DLC i was missing while it was on sale. Time to get back into the game. Apparently my gamespy ID was taken.. even though I used it a few months back. No more CorriganX now my gamespy ID is HellCyrus. I've got a beginning of P2 siren i'm still working on, if anyone wants to play and gets on late nights. Working evenings sucks.

CorriganX on Steam and just about everywhere else.
Uhhhh I also had to fight Bone Head before anything else, and he was DAMN hard. Wrecked my shit a few times before I finally killed him (during that "you must kill now or you will die" phase, too!)
I still frequently die vs. Nine-Toes. SKAAAAAAAAGS.
He's pretty easy if you just rush at him and use your action skill to drop his shield quickly. Just don't stop moving once the skags are out, but if you get him at point blank range he dies pretty quickly.

That, and it takes the skags a few seconds to pop out and start, um, skagging once you aggro him.
Keep in mind they have directional damage like alpha skags -- take almost nothing from the front when their mouth isn't open.

I can't remember what I was using the first time I fought nine-toes, but I was playing on my hunter and, I believe, specced pistol with a pretty nice revolver. When I went in there the skags practically dropped in two shots and nine-toes didn't last much longer. Every attempt after that seemed more difficult though and I honestly couldn't say why.
All I know is that the hunter is one mean pistolero.

Anymore it seems like I kill Nine Toes before the skags even show up.
Then I just take his gun and light them on fire and jump around until they die.
just grabbed this + DLC the other day and have a 24 lilith...
I tend to shy away from multiplayer as im not particularly skilled in these here fps's, how is it for the aggrevation vs loot? is it something to do end game or are you better off going early and often to be overgeared for the regular game?
for someone not big on the fps's im loving the style, definitely worth the 20 bucks so far (i liked the zombie expansion, the moxxis underdome chewed me up and spit me out (lvl 21 and got to the boss but he regens... bastard!)

it is generally better to farm gear solo if you have a patience carved of obsidian from games like diablo ii
So I'm mildly tempted to grab this on Steam just because it's cheap. I've got way too many other games I'd play before it, but the price seems almost unreasonably low.
So, any tips/tricks for me or any others who just picked this up on the steam sale? So far I'm digging Mordecai as a gunslinger but looking forward to a Roland or Siren next to see how they look as well.
The one thing I've run into with my (level 3) Roland is that after Mordecai, it seems like I have to get way too close in order to kill anything. Pistols with scopes and high (85%+) accuracy seem more viable than an assault rifle! Is this just cause I haven't seen good weapons in the types I didn't focus in (sniper and pistol)?
So far I've only played solo. Wanted to hit the weekend so that I'd have time to actually get into a session before joining the online madness.
Until you hit lvl 5 and stqart getting skill points I think they're all exactly the same - the only variations are the weapons. I could be wrong there, but it's the skill sets that really make the difference.

I'm normally not a big FPS guy, but this game has it's hooks in me.
Started up a Mordecai, and have him up to lvl. 16 already. Thus far I've been dividing points between rogue and the Sniper skills. Bloodwing is kicking ass and taking names right now.
Just finshed up getting the mine key in Sledge's safehouse and am preparing to rush the mines.

At level three all the characters are going to be very similar since you don't have your action skill yet. Roland is better suited to an up close play style. It's a very different playstyle then Mordecai's snipe & thin the crowd approach. I'd say until you get to level 9 or 10 do whatever works. Keep your eyes open for good shotguns, machine guns and SMGs. I enjoy my Roland character (lvl 45) the most when he's blasting people with his shotgun or just mowing them down with a bullet hose (you can get machine guns with 200+ clip when you add in his skills).
Well that makes sense. My Mord is 11 or 12 and the others I just made, looked at the skill trees, and ran around a little with. I'll probably play them all to at least 10, just haven't had the time yet.
I guess the character you choose may end up being a function of your preferred play style, and same for weapons it looks like. I tend to 'tap tap tap' with a semi rather than unload with a firehose, but not exclusively. Thing is, the few shotties and combat rifles and smgs I've come across with my Mordacai just seem... imprecise? I mean, I'm 15 feet away and 30% of my bullets are missing! They're still dying, but it just feels like I've either tried crap guns (couple greens and one blue so far I think) or have no skills with anything except pistol and rifle yet.
The characters have different health totals (I think) and VERY different hitboxes. Pistols will tend to dominate the early levels because of Omnia Vincit Amor and the Clipper; you'll be comparing trash whites to kickass uniques. Shotguns do eventually take off, and you'll find some with extremely small targeting circles. Also, Roland has a skill for that.

Yeah my roommate had picked it up awhile back so when I decided to snag it from the sale he jumped back in. May, playing with friends makes games hellabetter.

Greetings Starfighter! You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan Armada.
Wow. Got the Mercenary mod yesterday for Lilith and now I see why people love it. My explosive SMG just tears stuff apart now.
And you need 1 actual skill point for the +skills in mods to take effect right?
That is correct. Double Anarchy + Merc Mod w/ammo regen + specced into Spark,Slayer,Enforcer and High Velocity = up close and personal face melting fun. The Crits pop up like fireworks.

Wait, there are Merc Mods that give Ammo Regen? *sigh* Time to go hunting. My biggest problem with Lillith is that her ridiculous fire-rate means I run out of ammo FAST.

I didn't run into my first one until maybe in the Old Haven vendor. I just equipped a SMG that had ammo regen for a long time to regen ammo. I think the only other one I saw after that was the Dev chest on the Eridian Promontory. They aren't exactly common as far as I've found at least in PT1 even doing Armory runs.

of course once I tried this and he dropped the clipper beneath the stage thing
that was unpleasant
