I meant the full disk encryption specifically is yet to be cracked. But my argument is simple, there have been reports of cheats through hacks on the 360, even viral ones, while there has been nothing comparable on the PS3.
Ah, thought you meant the console as a whole. I can't speak to disk encryption. Then again, I haven't heard of anything close to "viral hacks" for the Xbox 360 either, much less cheating online through them (versus just using copies of games off line). Do you have any actual references, I'd be interested?
I only hope the online is good enough for NHL 11, which is the only game I intend to play online (not saying there wont be more, but it's the only one I've seen so far.)
I play a ton of multiplayer on the PS3, and it's my opinion that you're never going to be lacking for a pick up game on a big title like NHL11.
Here you go. Apparently MW2 has some temporary files containing game rules that get downloaded from the host for each client. If you played on an infected host, the hacked rule files would stick with you when you would host yourself, spreading it around. It was just temporary though, restarting your console fixed it. MW2 has a lot of buggy shit in it, it unlocks the trail versions of some capcom games to full versions for some bizarre reason. Don't try that though, you might get banned.

I don't play MW2, so that's not an issue.
Though article seems to suggest this has as much, if not more, to do with the game itself than Xbox Live as a whole. This is also from last year, and I've personally never heard of it actually happening (I'm not saying it didn't, just that if anyone else has actually been effect by it would be interesting to hear from). Has it happened elsewhere?
EDIT: At the same time, if it were as described, it sounds like a problem. I don't play MW2 myself (and I didn't hear of it), but nonetheless, I haven't heard of anything like that recently. Can anyone who's played MW2 recently give an update?
This is what I wanted to hear, actually. I was under the impression that PSN was a wasteland of games, while XBLA got all the cool stuff. I quite enjoy indy games, and I know XBLA has more/better, but if the PS3 is at least close, along with what I can get on my PC... I'll be happy.
Oh, and Rez HD....is that available on PSN? Cause that's a pretty big pull. I have it for DC still, but...its Rez....
The PSN has plenty of fantastic gamesand while they don't have a specific indie marketplace like the 360 does, they do have the PS3/PSP minis label which has produced a few cool low budget games.
And sorry but Rez HD isn't on the PSN, though you could just wait for Children of Eden. If you haven't heard of it, it's the spiritual sequel to Rez and will be appearing on both systems.
I must be one of those guys who likes having DLC more than not having it, even it if it isn't ground-breaking stuff. Off the top of my head, I immensely enjoyed Lara's Shadow for TRU, and that just flat isn't available on PSN. That's why I care. :winky:
Can't say the same for everyone, but given that games are sold for the same at first sale, it's enough to convince me not to buy any non-exclusives for the PS3. That's independent of the controller and online support. Though the gap isn't as big as it used to be...
I think my point was more that it doesn't really fall squarely on either side, they both have a tit for tat war going on in that space. Microsoft secure CoD timed exclusive DLC, Sony secures MoH Frontline and Dead Space Extraction as PSN exclusives (as well as free pack-ins with their respective sequels). It's all pretty silly really.
I was speaking of hacking entirely--I know that the hypervisor bypass allowed people to use, for example, copies of games. That, to me, is not "yet to be cracked".
You know wrong then. The hypervisor hack has so far been a dead-end, there's still no way to play copied (pirated) games on the PS3.
I think first of all you can just help of your best friends which console they are using and very nice for all the games, I you want to buy Xbox 360 so you can get some racing game fighting game from that and if you want to buy PS3 so you can get some war game,Hd game and action games.

Amusingly a quick Google search on Children of Eden produced this:
the trailer looks amazing, but what's with the guy waving his arms around? Is that just weird or eluding to control with the motion detector thing I've heard Sony is stealing from the Wii?
And no, the waving arms around is for Kinect (the Eyetoy device Microsoft's releasing later this year). I don't think it supports the Move (Sony's Wiimote), well not yet anyway. It'll be playable on both systems with a standard controller so don't worry about accessories and whatnot.

What does this even mean?
Chael Sonnen will be here shortly.
Seriously though, he's saying to ask your friends to see which console they like the most and if they think there's any games that would be good for you on them or to see which console has more games of each genre you like the most.

They really like their Wiis.....I think the waggle stuff is irritating. Though some of the sports games are fun. Mario Kart with the wheel thing sucks though.
Owning both consoles and getting a lot of fun out of both, here's my impression.
If you mainly play single player games AND there are exclusives on the PS3 you really want, go for it. Don't leave the store without RealTriggers aka Dual Triggers, though.
If either of the above is not true, go 360.

Well the only other exclusive 360 game I can think of right now is Alan Wake. You seem to like the PS3 games better though and I don't know if xbla or psn have better games (I only have a PS3) but I can tell you that critter crunch, joe danger, and fat princess are great and varied psn games (they have added some free DLC to fat princess). Also psn has Playstation one games like syphon filter, ape escape, and final fantasy VII and IX. I hoped that helped you make a decision, my advice would be to get the system with the games that interest you the most.
I love my 360 to death, but I think the PS3 has better exclusives in titles like Uncharted 2, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time, and Infamous. The only real downside is that the 360 seems faster in all things network-related, especially downloading and installing games/updates.

That is all you need to know.
That doesn't work, they are all Wiiheads.
That does look pretty sweet.
Hurr Wii sucks.
Whatever you want it to mean.

Are you saying, you want a piece of me?
Let's do this.

If either of the above is not true, go 360.
With a good gaming PC, though, you might just want to put all that money into PC gaming instead.
If you need a blu-ray player, the PS3 is a pretty good one.
