Yeah, that is pretty much the caliber of what I have to compete with. Although not my best, I still think mine was half decent compared to some of the others on there. Even if I don't win today, which is what it's looking like, I'll play the game anyway in a few months. Ah well. Internet never ceases to disappoint.

I didn't know a PAer's haiku was up today or I might have changed my vote. I submitted one as well, so I'm hoping it will get to the voting stage. At that point I figure that I've got a 50/50 shot at a key.
Yeah, unless they fuck up and post 12 instead of 10. Like today. And still plan on only giving out 5 keys between those 12. And gave out 5 keys between 8 contestants the day previous.
"I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers' flames. Their denizens fading without so much as a whimper. Entire planetary systems born and raised in the time that it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart, devoid of emotion... of empathy. I... have... felt... NOTHING! A million, million lives wasted. Had they all held within them your tenacity? Had they all loved life as you do?"
I really wish I could have seen Algalon. I think my guild is going to need to do a bit of recruiting in Cataclysm. Having 7-8 people really doesn't cut it when you really want to get stuff done.
I think the alchemist stone boost doesn't stack with itself. The Injector potions are just, well, 20 charge potions that have increased effect for engineers.
Of course, I could be wrong, that's just what I think is going on here.

I wish Blizzard, when they go back and redo all the Vanilla stuff, redo many of the dungeon quests. I'm looking at you, stupid escort quest from RFD.
Also, the Warlock class quests are just such a complete pain. I mean, not only do I have to farm a pattern, or pay 160+g for a robe, but then I have to pay another 150+ for a gold bar? No way. Fuck that goosery, man.

There are many class quests I don't do when leveling just because of reasons like that. I can just come back to them later anyway.
I know it won't happen, but I'm going to hope that in Cataclysm, since everyone will be forced to pick a particular spec and (of course) the game will be aware of it, that the need button in dungeons will disallow say, healing-spec druids from rolling on dps gear. Even better if people couldn't queue for specs that they are not (like not letting a DPS-spec queue as healer).
That last one is getting a bit presumptuous. Just because you're not specced as a healer doesn't mean you can't heal the instance just fine. With the health and armor normalization in Cataclysm, the same will be true for tanking. Fulfillment of those two roles is more dependent upon gear than talents.
Besides, if someone had two specs and only one was healing, what's the system going to do? Lock you to that spec for the duration of the instance? That'd be somewhat obnoxious.
I don't know if I'd like it f the game enforced you needing to have a spec for the role you're checking off or not. I'd have to experience it to know for sure. If they did implement such a system though they should auto-switch to the spec for the role you get in with so then you don;t have to swap after zoning in and get mana back.
Well, you won't be uncrittable without being specced for it in cataclysm, so there's that.
I also don't agree with any more restricted rolling than already exists. I have already watched tons of upgrade/offspec items wind up as shards because people can't roll on them; there doesn't need to be any more of that.
It would be nice if the dungeon finder gave you a prompt or something when you select tank/healer that said hey dumbfuck, you will actually be expected to perform this role, but even if it did you'd still get terribles. Frankly the ret paladin or shadow priest who wants to heal as an offspec is usually less of a problem than the specced "tank" or "healer" that is just fucking terrible.

So, looks like they're making power auras / proc watching type feature for Cataclysm. Which is nice, those kinds of addons are just about mandatory for proper play.
Sweet, my account got hacked on 8/8, and all of my shit is gone. Don't really play anymore, but I was planning on going back for Cataclysm. Hopefully I can at least get my tanking set for my DK back! I also just remembered that I am the GM for my guild, so the gbank is probably empty too. Fuck.
Speculating for the tradeskill powerlevel rush in Cataclysm, what do you suppose are "must buy" prices for raw materials? I picked up 16 stacks of Saronite Ore this morning at 11/12g but had some buyer's remorse after; I don't know how I feel about having my money tied up in something...not money. I also bought 50 stacks last week at 13g per.
Edit: Though I guess Saronite technically vendors at 12.5g a stack after smelting, so maybe I'm not that bad off.
I've also been buying Netherweave Cloth below 6g a stack for bags. Hoping this all pans out or it's all going to feel like a waste of money.
Edit: Nope, cause I just popped one for 5300 without a stone, and one for 7400 with. It does stack, and its GLORIOUS.
Is it possible it was a crit? This begs further testing. I expect some results, mister man!
Its not a crit, cause I have checked the combat log numerous times to make sure I saw the numbers right. Also, I don't think mana pots crit, healing pots do though.
No, the issue is that people are using information that is freely available (and would always need to remain so) mashing it up into a number, and misusing that number as a means to keep people out of their groups. All it does is make the process of inspecting someones gear faster, and ultimately less accurate.
The best thing we can do is tell people to stop using the information in a way that's dumb, and that's a losing battle.
For some reason, I had it in my head that gearscore was being calculated clientside, and that mods were just able to report it. Is that not how it works?

Gearscore isn't calculated by the game, it's a mod that generates a number based on item levels.

It is being calculated client side. Client side is our side. Blizzard's side is server side.
edit: or you meant it was calculated by the actual client versus an addon, but both of those are actually client side.

Also, it kinda ticks me off that this one is up there:

Doesn't seem very WoW themed.
Gotta be after they're in the guild. The achievements have to be completed with guild members, not grandfathered in.

I can definately say this is a sweet sweet thing. Plus, nothing beat 7k+ mana pots by having an alchemist stone + engineering injectors.
Seven THOUSAND mana potions?
Holy crap dude!
Cause I definately popped a Mana Pot injector for 7500.
