cancelled my legendary edition preorder today and just preordered plain old reach. I can't see myself really wanting the limited stuff and my dolls will make up for the lack of a statue.
so has anyone heard what they are giving away in Reach for those that played Halo 2 on the last day? I was talking to some guys at work about all the gamestop stuff and preorder stuff and remembered they said they were giving something for Halo 2 also....

Is Marty in addition to being the composer of the games the audio/sound director?
Does he create/mix the sounds for the games like that of gunshots explosions etc?
Basically is Marty to Halo what Ben Burtt is to Star Wars?

i seriously almost bought the ODST mongoose today, it's just so damn much for a toy ($25). the size difference between the old figures and the new ones is definately a bit jarring because up until mcfarlene got his hands on them they were almost GI joe sized.
but like others have said the new toys are wayyy more detailed, and they've done some cool things. they've got weapon packs with just about every gun you can imagine, and the new warthog and ghost toys look awesome. patiently waiting for the custom spartan option to show up on the site though, they could make so much bank off people who want figures of themselves in-game.

Marty, along with C. Paul Johnson and Jay Weinland, are the main Bungie audio guys. There's a huge chunk of behind the scenes stuff devoted to their work.
On the Halo 3 bonus disks, you can see them testing the game in 5.1 and see how you used to be able to customize more color on your armor in H3. One SPARTAN on-screen has red armor with a white helmet. Which is awesome.
Social engineering of Live support line, it's how people stole accounts that had Recon when only like 3 people had it. MS retrained their reps and changed how much info they could give out, but it still happens once in a while.
I'll just keep an eye out on it. If MS security policies fall like a house of cards again, I'll just wait a bit before turning it on. If I hear nothing, I'll turn it on and hope for the best (and then turn it off because i'm too visible)
But you can also apparently set up shit like a PIN tied to your phone and stuff, which I already did, which should make it really hard for someone to get enough details to take an account. I've been up on the front page quite a few times and I haven't had my account ganked
Okay so the Halo Reach four pack with Emile, Jorge, the Elite and Green Spartan came in today.
The sculpt is a lot better than the Halo 3 figures, and the paint is just as good. Figures are overall a little bit bigger. More importantly though, they don't have oddly large hips and a jutting out pelvis. This was the only real complaint I had with the Halo 3 figures originally and they've seemingly resolved that.
Jorge and the Elite are nearly an inch taller than Emile, so that size difference is great to see.
I paid a somewhat inflated price on Ebay because the 4-pack accidentally got released early at some locations. It retails for $30 though, (http://store.spawn.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=584) which is really good price considering it's a 4-pack and single figures typically go for about $12.
I'll play MNC until the trial runs out but I'm not convinced by it yet.
But yeah, it felt good to play again. I got a message from a guy after wanting me to free up a spot on my list because I was, in his words, 'an awesome and beast Halo 3 driver'.

I was right! The first mission does (possibly, maybe) involve insurrectionists. Though, you'd think they'd have been stomped out with prejudice on a militarily important planet like Reach. And that this fancy important relay thing would have a full garrison of combat troops..

Actually somewhat old info, as they showed that they could drive civvy vehicles.. but the new info is that every single one you encounter will be drivable, so I guess no more midget cars like ODST or Halo 2.
Also, resisting opening cinematic. I caved and watched Halo 3's a week early. I should try and hold out this time
