Oh yes, you were probably playing a placement match with the purpose of figuring out what league you belong in. After you get placed you will be matched with people around your skill level.
Hey, Stig we should play some time. I need to play some good Zerg players and steal any good ideas you may have.
I guess that kind of goes for everyone else as well. I'm almost always up for a game or two when I'm online, and would eventually like to learn how to play the other two races fairly well. Doesn't matter which league you're in.

no, I have not played multiplayer at all yet
I was too infatuated with the singleplayer campaign and am also a coward
but really
I enjoyed walking around the ship to do upgrades and such
reminded me a lot of another spacefaring strategy game the name of which eludes me now
Well you can't place into diamond....
So you may be playing with people below you skill level for a while.
Other than that I wouldn't know what you're talking about.
So, how does one deal with a baneling wall bust if you know it's coming? I get the wall-off up as fast as possible to prevent the zergling rush, but since I'm using supply depots as part of the wall, they just wait a bit, blow it up with a set of banelings, and run through anyway.
It is the rule in war, if ten times the enemy's strength, surround them; if five times, attack them; if double, be able to divide them; if equal, engage them; if fewer, be able to evade them; if weaker, be able to avoid them.
So early game, you build up a nice force to push with, and you run into an army much stronger than your own. What do you do?
That's when you need to go back to the replay and see how things got that way.
Having a smaller army isn't a bad thing if you're in a better economic situation and you're capable of holding them off and delaying them.
Just got my 100-win 1v1 Terran achievement today. After an aggravating zergling+roach rush that blew through my wall and defenses because I spent too much time teching up (and led to me smashing my keyboard and breaking one of its support legs), I decided to go gasless on the next match. SCVs, supply depots, barracks, marines, more SCVs, more depots, more barracks, more marines. No tech labs, no reactors, just building more and more and more marines until I was driving marines into his base for the win. Eventually had like 8 unteched/unreactored barracks up. Just because it was Scrap Station and I was growing impatient with 2-base maps.

We should all throw wimble a "you have the game! now we pit you against 7 people who have been playing for months in a giant FFA" party
oo that will be fun
i actually did pretty decent in one of those types of games with my much better friends because they started killing each other and i survived and amassed a huge army and killed some dudes
which was ok until my friend came by with mass void rays and i did not have good anti air

I got a free trial with my new video card and I really enjoyed the single player
I wanted to get a little more experience before I got assraped by some zurg player
but my time has run out and now I can't fly around the galaxy anymore
is this worth fifty bucks if I'm only mediocre at strategy games?
I think the campaign alone is worth $50, also the map editor rivals that of LBP.
And there's no reason why you have to stay mediocre!
Memorize every word he says and you will be pro in no time!

And if you enjoy it and play a bunch, you will improve drastically.

Yeah or a factory.
Also, has anyone tried installing to multiple computers? Does Blizzard allow you to do that so long as you don't use both at the same time?
Pretty sure this is ok.
