I'm just finishing off a project for university which is based during the Moorish period of Spain (late 15th century). I'm looking for an atmospheric, 'arabic' piece of music that we could put over our piece, something similiar to Lisa Gerrards work on Gladiator.
I don't want to hijack the thread, but holy shit that Muslimgauze stuff is cool. 99 studio albums is a lot though. Any suggestions on which to start with?
There was a good documentary on Turkish music called Crossing the Bridge a few years ago. Soo, keep in mind that someone who was actually knowledgeable about music will know the difference. But, here's something that could work.

There's other stuff that may be used from that too, but some of it may have too much Kurdish or Gypsy influence to have a Moorish feel.
