So I had no idea how famous Gordon Lightfoot was when I met him last Wednesday. I thought he was just a singer/songwriter who did well enough to support himself, not the Canadian icon that he actually is. Chalk it up to me not being from my generation and cultural ignorance upbringing I guess.
I should pay attention to the music scene more.
In an awkward silence with Gordon Lightfoot, the proper course of action is to make "too silent to be real" jokes. Just kidding. That guy is one of my favorite musicians. You are so lucky to have met him, Godfather.
I have a rather large lamp to my left, that maybe I can fashion into a shiv, which is a terrible zombie weapon. My Dagger-Axe is upstairs which is also to the left of me, so I'm gonna go with that.
Soooo guess whos volunteering at the SPCA and probably going to play with some puppies next weekend?
Argh, so I got my moving cost reimbursement check, but I can't do anything with it because I can't open a local bank account because I don't have my real, printed Massachusetts driver's license yet, and there aren't any branches of the bank I use currently anywhere in this damn state.
I suppose I could just cash the check and put it all in a briefcase like I need to go pay off ransom to some not-very ambitious goons, but that seems like a pretty stupid idea.

I bought a book called "Perspective for Artists".
It turns out it's about how to use visual perspective, and not about how to come to terms with your place in the art-world.

No, you were right the first time. It's one of them metaphores.

The one by Rex Vicat Cole? (I know this off the top of my head only because that's such an awesome name.)
That's one of those books that is great information if you can manage to actually sit down and read it, but actually doing that is way harder than it sounds. I've tried reading it a bunch of times, but I've stopped really trying after I realized the second I put it down, I hadn't actually retained any of the information I'd just read.
The book that I was recommended at Watts when I brought up this issue was Creative Perspective for Artists and Illustrators by Ernest Watson, it's probably less technically in-depth, but it's a lot more user-friendly.
Of course, maybe you've got a much higher reading level/greater pain tolerance level than I do, so the Cole book might be fine.

I was just joking, but I do actually have the Rex Vicat Cole book and you are 100% right in your analysis! I sit down to read it and my eyes glaze over and I read each word, disjointed, without comprehending any of the meaning.
Then I close the book, grab a pencil, and, feeling accomplished and ready, realize that despite having read many words in sequence I am no better at using perspective.

Man this is so bizarre. He comes in the shop all the time to get his guitar/equipment fixed every other week.
This is just like the time I met Marc Jordan or Bruce Cockburn in the same damn store. This shit keeps catching me sideways, grah!
I just watched Contact again which was weird after watching a bunch of Carl Sagan stuff. I saw it in theatres when it came out but it is nice to understand a lot more of what is going on, and also knowing about Sagan beforehand.
It's interesting, actually....my gmail account is really good at filtering out spam...all of which is in Chinese. I've heard of other people with gmail accounts only getting spam in Chinese, too.
Edit: Why do I enjoy reading stories about people's horrible experiences? Not that I fin pleasure in them... it's just that it's interesting to see what people secretly go through.

Don't say that! My new job is not going to be a horrible experience!

How can you not like Star Wars? :P
I just watched Forbidden Planet (1956) for the first time. Really enjoyed it!
if only for the reactions of the WoW nerds who get their accounts hijacked
Hopefully I can get this finished today and be done with it.
I actually needed to read that a few times to figure out what the hell they were trying to say.
i decided to change my password only because i guess it was asking for CC information as well and i kinda want to keep my email i guess
it was actually really eerie to look through my inbox and ... see all these emails... from me... that I didn't remember sending...
Oddness
I really hope I still remember how to draw.

Hahaha.
Aw man... my xbox fell over (while it was running), and it ruined my copy of Viva Piñata.
Let us know how it goes!
