Also apparently this charachter is written by Avellone and
John Cassidy
's child (Companion from the second)
* Full Name: Rose of Sharon Cassidy
* Sex: Female
* Race: Human
* Ethnicity: Caucasian
* Age: 37
* Profession: Water merchant, owner of Cassidy Caravans
* Perk: Whiskey Rose – While Cass is a companion, she and the player gain Damage Threshold when they drink Whiskey. Additionally, the player does not suffer intelligence loss from consuming alcohol and ignores the negative effects of alcohol addiction.
* Description: Worn down by years of hard luck and a recent rash of terrible misfortunes, Cass is a despondent merchant who’s about to get out of the caravan business. She’s smart, tough, and steady with a gun, but she hasn’t been savvy enough to survive the ruthless caravan wars that have flared up in Nevada since NCR’s expansion. Though she’s quick to join up with the player for some easy money, she’s still interested in finding out if she’s been suffering from bad luck or something more sinister.

Damn, I was hoping for a Securitron as a non human companion. Honestly, instead of limiting it to 1 humanoid, and one non humanoid, why not just limit it at two? What if I want to get 2 humanoids following me? They never really explain why you can have more anyway. All the companions say is "Oh, you've already got a companion" what is that? They need their space?

Reading those companion ages makes me really weary of the entire concept of the Fallout games now taking place two centuries after the Great War. The amount of time seems very arbitrary and exaggerated, and it's been an issue since Fallout 2.
It seemed like a lot less of a clusterfuck in the original, when the Great War was a mere 80 years earlier, yet there still only seemed to be three "people" old enough to have witnessed it firsthand (Set, Harold and The Master)

I'm new to the Fallout universe, having only played fo3, but I see it as kind of a b-movie. Don't think too hard about things (the lack of prey for the predators, only taking a single steak off a brahmin, so many cars and so few charging stations) and just roll with it.
Also this has sadly been bumped to a Christmas game for me. Gonna try to get my parents to pre-order somewhere so I can get a little bonus, and I definitely want the Limited Edition.
AL: One aspect of the game I didn't get to see at E3 were weapon mods. How many mods will be in the game, and how many will each type of weapon be able to have on it?
JS: There are a few dozen different weapon mods in the game. Mods are used primarily on capital-G Guns, but can also be purchased for Energy Weapons and some Explosives. An individual weapon can have up to three mods.

Thank you. For making songs out of my childhood come to the forfront of my brain and probably repeat itself till I end the voices with a nice .44.

screenshots seem to make it appear that it makes the characters look, um..human.
It does make them look human. Also Moira doesn't have that 'stache anymore.
Project Beauty is an awesome mod that really does improve the way NPCs look quite noticably.
There's another mod I really loved called Fellout, that all it did was remove the 'green' from the entire world... it's just amazing how much better the environment looks with only that. Of course, the mod also makes night times pitch fucking black so you need another mod to undo that since the guy who made Fellout is adamant about this choice.

You know what's awesome? The bullettime mod.
I dont want the new op to be bloated and become a gigantic unmanagable list of mods like the previous ops were, I'm only adding select mods

also, broken steel made companions damn near unkillable, especially Dogmeat.

In Fallout 2 you had a fully robotic dog companion. So no.
I just said it was kind of silly.
Relax people.
Put the clubs down.
Wait, so this means the whole charisma-based companion limit is out?
Sure it'll be modded, eventually
you're just lucky my poor rover is more computer than hound, or else he'd be sinking his keyboard right into your hard drive
2 cyberhounds and Dogmeat. Fallout 2 was all about the dog companions.
Every time I see him, I'll be thinking of Animal House. I'll have to arm him with a golf club.
Those companions are all great.
Lily. Sex: Super mutant.
Thats the best answer.
If I can't have every single one of the non-humans with me at the same time, I will throw this game away.
A woman that, by virtue of her presance alone, removes the negative side effects of booze = The Best Thing Ever. Anything else she does is a bonus.

only thing better is if she's a love interest.
Eep. No. Avellone romances do not end well.
its perfectly safe since [strike]our amino acids are different[/strike] shes mutant and sterile
That's Bioware romance, dude. Obsidian romance is more like
"I like you a lot, Wanderer, but unfortunately if we ever get together, I will die a horrible and slow death.
Also you accidentally killed my parents years ago and it left me with a complex.
Also I have cancer."
screenshots seem to make it appear that it makes the characters look, um..human.
Steam: CavilatRest
the cancer, has cancer

You actually gave them the cancer and don't remember doing it.
Well then I guess you shouldn't

That's not Lily. You mean Rose.
Also, I'm not sure Avellone wrote Lily. But he defenitly wrote Rose Cassidy.

I think I'll add it to the op then.
anyone familiar with the 0xc000005 crash?
I cant even run F3 right now cause i get that crash as soon as i load F3.

I'm torn about which companions I should take.
It sounds to me like it will make the game feel more like a desperate struggle for survival, just the way a post-apocalyptic game should feel.
