Hey Penny Arcade Forums! Long time reader/lurker, first time poster.
My name is Julian Mehlfeld, I work as a Community Manager over at Sega and I wanted to extend an invitation to everyone on the forum to come by and visit our community event on Saturday, September 4th at 8pm. We're throwing an event that's completely free and open to anyone in Seattle - PAX attendee or otherwise. Doors open at 8pm and we'll be right across from the convention center at the Gameworks Arcade.
We have some fun stuff planned for the event; but it's mainly a chance for us to meet the Sega fans out there and play some arcade games after a busy day on the show floor. We'll have free food and drinks on hand, game time with the SEGA and non SEGA Gameworks Arcade, musical performances by Cash Cash (of the Sonic Colors theme song), and our prize giveaways.
The raffle prize giveaways will include some really nice Sega goods from years past, present, and future. We have an image up of the whole lot, but will be breaking them into 20 prizes. The sweatshirt you see in the front will be included in each of the twenty giveaways - these are limited edition created just for PAX - we're quite fond of them
.
Hope you can make it out! We have an informal signup on our facebook page (
here) that's optional - otherwise doors open at 8pm and it's first come first serve. We have the whole Gameworks space, so we're hoping to get a lot of fans in to have fun after the show!
If you have any questions - just post and I'll do my best to answer.
Update! I just posted a bit about our raffle on our blogs, including a very sweet replica Scarborough Fair Bayonetta gun!

Me and some friends will be there, as long as we can actually get in. With the Facebook page, Twitter, and now posted here I am beginning to worry :-P

Yep! My FIRST game console was the original Sega Master system. Anyone remember the snail game if you powered it on without a game in it? I believe that game changed depending on the version of hardware you had.
I also had a Master System 2 as the original met an untimely demise due to a dumb dog that didn't know the difference between video game goodness and food.
Can it be next week already, I want to be in Seattle already!

I'll be there waiting right after the Star Wars panel! Sounds badass!
Hai. Which was pretty damn similar to a serial port anyway, if I remember correctly.

My second Dreamcast was bought for me as a birthday present by my roommate and later stolen by his brother and sold to a game exchange for 8 dollars.
Hence why I'm modding the heck out this Nomad. Want it to last more than 10 minutes.
