Well, know longer have a clue whether or not there's a tag event going on at Gamestop tomorrow. That particular shop only mentions a PS3 move event. While the GS near my house says that there is a DQ event, and at IS happening at that shop.
Who freakin knows?
I'm still going. I need to get ome stuff there, plus a copy of Birth by sleep.
Sorry, ridiculous late-to-the-party question: I remember reading that when you revocate, all the skill points you spent in the class-specific tree are wiped (so a solider would lose everything spent in courage, etc.), but I can't seem to find that info now anyplace. I am just imagining things and do the skill points actually stay?

Nerds like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, right? Then you've probably heard about the Rally to Restore Sanity/March to Keep Fear Alive in Washington on October 30th.
If anyone from this thread is going, bring your DS and DQIX and tag mode. I know I'll be canvassing there!
New map from Nintendo GET! Just got back from the Ontario Mills. I wasn't expecting much and it wasn't wrong. Some random vendors were trying to cash in on the small crowd (teenage hair products, etc) with booths nearby but whatevers. Met some cool people, we exchanged some info, left Adonus to play 4player wifi with some cool guys while my DSi started to die out. So tired but I am so going to plop down and grind up to 99 so I can start clearing some of the maps I nabbed from there (and PAX).
Got a bunch of lv 95+ maps from the Mills. EXCITEMENT!
How long were you there Arikado? Because maybe we passed by each other, although it sounds like you left early. Did you see a guy with a pink DS and an Adventure Time shirt? Because that was totally me.
I was just WAY too tired today. Just woke up from a 3 hr nap.
EDIT: I wasn't wearing anything too crazy. I thought I could stand out by taking my sky blue slime sack from PAX but it turns they were giving the same ones away earlier.
Well mine had a Phoenix Wright thing on it! The shirt would've been the way to recognize me, it has a whole bunch of different faces. I also got there a little late, so we probably missed each other. I didn't leave until 12:30 when I meant to leave an hour earlier.
I got some nifty sage items from this week. I'm kinda hanging out not going for the final boss cause I want to level up my sage. I really hate that lower level chars get reduced exp.
is have a ball based on strength or magical might?
I'm a little annoyed that there is a shitload of multiplayer / map content in this game that is exclusively available through local wifi.
Sure that is nice if you bring your game to PAX or something (I picked it up right before heading to PAX and didn't play it enough to get to Stornway while I was there), but otherwise it's a bunch of shit that I will never get to experience.

Yeah. Tag mode on the 3DS is going to be a huge hit.
Like I read about all these maps that you can only get if you happen to live in an area where they have some sort of event and you have a schedule that allows you to go to that event.
Fantastic.
Would it be that crazy to, I don't know, have some shit available over a regular internet connection? Or does it have to be further emphasized that I live in the middle of nowhere?

I'm fairly sure I had read that all the exclusive maps are going to be distributed online eventually. You're just getting them early by going to the events.

Are there any maps that have more than one S rank chest in them? The one I have now is a level 99 map with 1 S rank and 10 A ranks. I got a bunch of alchemy ingredients and a Metal Slime Armor. Probably going to just keep running this one until something better comes along.

Yes, this is absolutely the case.
The only thing you can get from local ad-hoc wireless that you can't get from infrastructure (the Internet) is Tagging 30 guests to max out your Inn. This amounts to a handful of alchemy items from the fountain every so often and a handful of alchemy recipes (which you can still make, you just have to look up the recipes on said Internet).
Everything else is NOT exclusive to local wireless. Tag Mode just allows you to trade maps, which means you can get some content early from someone else who has it. It's faster, that's all.
Man, the thing about this first post-game quest is that they want me to acquire things that are either A) ridiculously expensive, meaning I get to play Ear Cosy Tycoon for a couple hours, or require alchemy requiring items I've never seen before. Which means wandering completely and totally without purpose for god only knows how long.
Sort of like that first Sword quest. Bloody red sign...

Plus there's the extra "cosplay" equipment from special guests if you've maxed out, right? A low priority unless you're an obsessive completionist.

That's from the online DQVC, not local Ad-hoc wireless. You can't trade the cosplay equipment with other people or post them up for sale or something.

Yes, but apparently some of the cosplay equipment is only available if you've maxed out your inn, which requires local wireless.

Ah, yes, you are correct, sir. Your earlier statement about the extra equipment from the special guests being not necessary is also correct.
Do special guests unlock areas of the Inn? I could have sworn that a door on the left of my Inn wasn't available until recently. Most likely I probably never panned the camera toward it.

Little door on the left is always there. I think it's where your party goes when you have them stay at the inn, though I've never checked to be certain. I know it's the door that they come out of when you summon them back.
What is the appeal of the Armamentalist? I never really understood it. I have all vocations aside from the Sage and Luminary or whatever the last one is called. Luminaire.. Luminary. I just know that it's a bad vocation from what I've been told.
Also, where does one find the Sage quest? I want to get it so I can switch my priest up to a sage.

Beat the game first, then go the Alltrades Abbey when you have the class you want at 99.

Probably a good idea. Gladiator is the best class for pure damage.
