Someone explain the monster recruiting to me for DQ7. I keep getting them but they aren't at Haven, even tho that girl tells me some are but then she tells me they aren't.
Are you talking about the people who used to be monsters but are now human, or the monsters you befriend in battle? Because in the first case, they're there. They just might be inside buildings or something. In the second case, you're looking in the wrong place. They're in the monster sanctuary.
The ones you befriend in battle. I only have Haven unlocked and there's no buildings there at all. I'm thinking there must be something later then.
Also, is there some best way to get monsters recruited? Is it just grind away on mobs or is it like the last one killed by whoever's holding the biscuit bag or what?
Nope. They go to the sanctuary. You should have a portal in the basement of the haven, to the right of the tablet pedistal.
And it's always the last one killed in battle. You don't even have to be holding the bag (I think) Just the monster that ends the battle will be the one you can recruit. You'll want a monster masher and cast animal magnetism on it 5 times for a guaranteed join.

So does actually using the bag do anything? You get a dialogue box that says the area is covered with a delicious smell that appeals to monsters or some such.

It might raise their affection like animal magnetism? I don't know. I never actually used it in battle.
Also, while you can access the Monster Meadows right when you get the Haven, it's really only so you can get the Monster Munchies and start recruiting monsters early, you can't actually interact with them until you restore the island the sanctuary is on. This was a change from the original where you couldn't get the key item to recruit monsters until restoring the island, which is quite a ways into the game.

Using the bag itself doesn't do anything, it only enables recruiting monsters by way of its presence in your inventory. There will be treats you can get later on however that do the same thing as animal magnetism.

Well when I use it it says it fills the area with an aroma that monsters love so yeah I think you're incorrect.

Plus, I only ever got one monster just randomly until I started actively using it. Then I got two more within about 15 mins after I started. But, not really proof.
In the chapters, hunger is slow enough it's never a constant bother, there's food everywhere, and you eventually can build special rooms that prevent you losing hunger while in town.
It's slightly more annoying in the free mode because you'll probably be more concerned with building and farming to go hunting for food. Which is why there's an accessory you can make to halt the meter entirely.

Just keep playing about another hour or two and you'll get your answer - not that it isn't obvious.
The monster professions are better than the normal professions. There's a Google doc a page back that shows what learns what. The core professions like priest/martial artist etc. are fine through the course of most of the main story though.

I beat the game at around level 35-40 with a team of Hero, Sage, Paladin, and Monster Masher. (I had planned to turn my Paladin into a Champion, but didn't feel like grinding too much by the end.)
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King will be one of 2017’s first video games this year. Nintendo has announced the JRPG will come to the Nintendo 3DS in North America and Europe on January 20, 2017. It also went over some of the new features only available in this version of the game.
People playing Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King on their Nintendo 3DS will notice story and gameplay changes. It has a quick-save function, as well as a Speed Up feature to make battles quicker. Morrie and Red have been added as new playable characters, with the former being a mix of a martial artist and minstrel, in terms of abilities, and the latter considered something of a thief. More dungeons and side quests are available. You can check in with Cameron Obscura in Port Prospect to get Cameron’s Codex to get rewards fro their photography and share pictures via StreetPass. There’s even an alternative ending.

still waiting for confirmation on the jiggle-tit removal
I thought stuff like that was already removed from the Japanese release? Changes in ratings requirements or something? Honestly I can't remember any jiggle from either the PS2 or Android versions.

Don't remember much jiggling myself aside from the blindfold and slimes thing.
Oh wait, just remembered the "witch" type enemies. One of their idle animations was even pressing their forearms to the sides of their chest and wiggling their upper bodies. Well, whatever the case it's probably not really something I'll miss.

Its hard to imagine DQ8 with two more main characters.
The main four were so heavily involved with the story, not sure how you could add Morrie and Red into all that without redoing a lot of scenes or going the cheap route and just making them characters you can use in your party but have no actual effect on the story or cutscenes.
Hey, so I could use some advice. I am in Chapter 3 of DQB and I have exhausted every healing item that I can find. No more white petals and no shrubs.
I still have a bunch of big battles left. So, should I restart the chapter?

Hey, for DQVII, does the item drop rate vary by enemy species, or is it fixed? I'm trying to figure out the best enemies to farm for stat seeds, because I am a lunatic.
Mad Moles, for the record, seem to be the best source of strength seeds, but other monsters seem way stinger with the other seeds types.
Also, the Big Book of Beasts doesn't seem to accurately record the number of items you've gotten from a monster.
Varies by species. Also, the Klepto Clobber ability steals at double the rate of a drop, but doesn't work if the target dies; only the final enemy killed in battle will have chance of dropping an item; the Thief and Pirate's passive ability acts like an additional chance at an item drop for every party member in either class but you can still only get one drop per battle; and an enemy won't drop an item if it dropped a heart.

On the further subject of drops, Diamond Mannequins give Super Seeds of Resilience, and DLC monsters seem to have higher drop rates than the regular ones, so that might be a beast to keep an eye on.

I think you can find some white petals in the snow area, though they're pretty spread out.
Honestly though, you probably won't need them. The chapter boss is really easy, you shouldn't get banged around much.
She even had it when she turned. And nodded. And walked.
It was pretty fucking dumb. But I didn't see the slightest bit of it in the released videos so far which is promising.
