Platforumers/TATF actually banned talking about PA because they got tired of the PA mods doing strange stunts in G&T just to piss people off, then running over to the treehouses to obsessively watch themselves being talked about
Like whenever some kind of drama was happening in G&T the guests/users ratio on platforumers would quintruple, even if nobody on platforumers was actually talking about it
This is probably not the kind of thing one wants to act as enabler to

I was never one of those guests.
And as far as I know, none of us ever did anything just to piss off people at the treehouses. One or two people monitored them, though, and whenever something did come up, yeah, we tended to watch.

Well, of course you weren't. Because you created an account to lurk with (which was never posted with, despite being personally invited to do so) rather than lurking as a guest like everybody else. (Obviously not all of whom were mods, because the guest swells were larger in quantity than the actual number of mods PA has.) Which is certainly more mature than doing so as a guest, but has little difference in effect.
And as far as I know, none of us ever did anything just to piss off people at the treehouses. One or two people monitored them, though, and whenever something did come up, yeah, we tended to watch.
Specifically to piss off the treehousers, no. But I certainly as fuck know that Monoxide did stuff to play around with people-- surely not the treehouse forumers specifically, but certainly just to go "oh look! i have mod powers!"-- and then ran over immediately to the treehouse forums, looked up whatever was being said about it, and went back and posted it in the G&T thread. I know this because I watched him.
some mods here are freaks (... apparently). I don't know why that happens.
D&D has been good though as far as I can ever remember. :-) for real.
That's largely due to the fact that D&D regs are inherently easy to manage.

Not that I expect anyone to care about my opinion, but:
D&D is frankly pretty close in my mind to the ideal of a perfectly moderated board. D&D also seems to me to be almost unmoderated, and to the extent the moderators guide the board they from what I have seen do so almost entirely without the actual use of moderator powers.
(Those last two sentences are basically saying the exact same thing.)
Hey, did anyone else watch the NHL All Star game? What the hell is with it being on a Wednesday?
They put it on Versus, didn't they? Dumbasses.
Uh, probably. I watched CBC here of course. Versus is their carrier in the US, though they have some games on NBC on weekends now I think. Brett Hull is apparently doing some in between periods stuff, which ought to be worth watching, as he's one of the few hockey players not afraid to be opinionated.
Not being on ESPN is about the dumbest thing Bettman has ever done. Aside from over-expanding the league.

Tube's philosophy of modding without the use of any buttons other than "Post Reply" whenever possible is steeped in wisdom.

I wouldn't know about this one way or the other as I don't read SE++. His moderation outside of SE++ that I have seen has never even vaguely resembled what you describe, but that is probably only natural.

it's also a niche section of a niche message board.
It makes it twice as hard to find. A gamer-idiot can find G&T as easy as a gamer-good-person... the odds of a complete fool coming in here and posting about -whatever- when the first reason they came had to be gaming is a lot less likely.
Plus, again, good mods, real and strict rules that are simple enough but ever present.

Eh, for all I know he bans first and asks questions later. I don't much pay attention to his actual moderator actions, I'm just going on what he's always saying in the mod forum.

Right, certainly that's going to be part of it. Also, it's not particularly crowded-- sufficiently small message boards often can basically self-moderate. Quadruple the size and traffic level of D&D, and I'd a bit doubt the current the moderation dynamics could be maintained. But who knows.

Quick, everyone make three alts so we can test this theory.

Is it okay if instead of making new ones I just sign on with Loren Michaels, Entropykid and Mad Morlock all at once?

fuck... I guess I'm going to read them anyway.
If I make a thread about viagra, AIDS, and frivolous lawsuits, would that count as interesting
Only if the unifying theme is Jewish Conspiracy.
That's gonna be really hard to work in. I'm not sure I can do it.
Circumcision makes you less likely to get AIDs, or something. Theres your connection!
AIDs was biogenetically engineered by the Jews as a subversive way to impose Jewish doctrine on the god-fearing Christian public of the US? This was done because the Jews are actually Satan worshippers who manipulate world events because they like cheese because they are really super-intelligent mice from another dimension.

I was going to reply and say "you should un-nail yourself from that cross", but that's probably against H/A's rules.
Right below the elbow, not on the wrist. :P
Well, right, obviously if your wrists are nailed to a board it's going to put some stress on your lower arms. That's actually what kills you in crucification-- not the actual nailing, but the fact that your hands are nailed such that they support your entire body and your legs are broken to keep them from supporting you against the cross, causing the weight of your body to slowly crush your lungs until you suffocate.
Unfortunately I know this information but not how to help you with your actual problem.

...What kind of horrible existence...
So bare of joy and novelty...
...though in an age with internet radio...
To... to... advertise...
...A fucking non-interactive DJ...
And to go.. to go so far as to make announcements on a goddamn forum...
...And you even ask the bartender... and he acts like it is in fact a THING

however, after copy-pasting the images into the main image, I can't move them around.
I have no idea why, they shouldn't have all flattened down to the same layer, at least I don't think so.
any ideas?
