I wonder if hellions will see more mid-game use if tanks lose some of their splash potential. To be fair, unsieged tanks are still monsters vs armored and its a little nuts to be doubly effective. If the opponent is truly committed to light units, pre-igniting hellions will be a strong choice for their cost instead of masstankslol
Marines should have always been around in TvT regardless of tank splash, just further to the back
I'm seeing a lot more terrans getting planetary fortress to stop early zerglins + banelings.
Those are terrible terrans, as when you say 'early' I'm assuming you mean 'before he expands', indicating he's completely fucked up his economy. Factory/Barracks wall-in and/or quick hellions still does a fine job stopping the bust.

although I haven't played a ton, I can't imagine getting a PFort before my third base, anything but MULEMULEMULE and the occasional panic-scan is just too unthinkable

Recent terran play had trended towards getting rid of marines almost entirely in favour of mass marauders for the simple reason that marauders can wreck a tank line if in sufficient numbers. Which was what was needed to bust the ground army, while you fought for air superiority with vikings.
YAY! Got Promoted into a Diamond League. But it ate up like 350 of my points. Currently sitting at Rank 3 in my Diamond League. It's a new division though. But YEA! WOO now I can shoot for first place again.

I've never played a TvT where marauders broke the line but I can imagine it easily, I've just seen so many banshees and BCs go tapdancing on tanks that a pack of marines with stim and 2-3 medivacs SOMEWHERE on the map have been pretty standard for me.
Im pretty happy with the changes to siege tanks. Now that P/Z have a bit more freedom with their zealots/lings/hydras maybe they can stand up to marauders without actually nerfing marauders (favorite unit) and conversely hellions will get more use (another favorite unit). Shaking up the meta a bit can be a fun thing
so what with the patch notes and the things people are saying are getting nerfed in the last thread?
What do you mean? Blizzard released some patch notes for their next patch. Tanks are getting a nerf. Reapers are getting a nerf. Zealots are getting a nerf. Desert Oasis is being changed slightly. Nothing major.

Im hoping that isn't the entire contents of the patch, actually. It would be nice to see that they held back some of the changes.

It's pretty much guaranteed that there's some more minor stuff.
Hell, doesn't blizzard usually make a couple changes they don't even document in the patch notes?

I wouldn't say "usually" so much as "always." In WoW at least, the undocumented changes were often as important if not moreso than the published ones. The unpublished ones just tended to be more "under the hood" type changes that really affected things if you were a metagamer (guilty) but not so much if you weren't.

Blizzard frequently has changes that are not run by the team responsible for providing the changes documentation, and frequently makes changes in patches after the official change documentation is completed, so you should always expect other stuff to go in.
It's more an issue of disorganization or impetuousness that prevents changes from going in the logs.

Yeah. I want to say the "AI change" with tanking mobs in WoW was an undocumented change... and it was pretty much the most radical change to PvE that ever was. Also, really really sucked.

I don't know if this has already showed up but I just constucted Barrack while the SCV was on the bunker. I really don't remember how I did this but here is the replay: http://www.starcraft2.fi/replay/showReplay.php?replay=258 (press lataa).
You can see this "glitch" around at 4min.
I think that is pretty good trick to know, I mean it can be useful in certain situations
Wow I just tested it and it really works.
- Hide Spoiler -
Start construction of building right next to a bunker.
Press T to stop construction.
Put SCV in bunker and let bunker continue building the building next to it.
could use this to literally leapfrog bunkers in a bunker rush
GG's to Olorin. Surprise attacks are cute, but only work once. I totally need to work on my midgame. Can't one of those YABOT or QXC testers make a midgame tester? Like start you with a set number of workers, x/y/z buildings and about to expand?
I've got to get the timing on when to build more unit producing structures and upgrade buildings. Also, more mans to kill with!
Ummm...what?? I don't think I've ever played you. Certainly not recently as I've been out of town...

wow if thats a bug it needs to be fixed, if its intentional it needs to be fixed.
It doesn't really affect anything, besides leapfrogging bunkers really slowly. And if someone can't beat a bunker crawl like that, they deserve to lose. It's not like this is some game-breaking glitch.

200 minerals to do something only marginally harder to deal with than the regular cheese bunker rush.
200 minerals better spent on 4 extra marines (reapers, I guess?), IMO
hey guys, my drone can like build stuff without being targeted, you cant stop my OP drone!

I guess you could proxy barracks while building an offensive bunker or safely place offensive missile turrets while building forward bunkers but it just doesn't seem like a really serious issue.
It's no floating buildings on top of siege tanks to make them ignore all melee or close range.
Man, 2v2 has been rough today. Played an absolutely retarded match where the enemy team were both Terran and one went Marines and the other went Marauders. They both built their structures around their CC to make a wall, with bunkers and stuff. I pretty much just massed lings and threw them at the problem for a while; my teammate got vrays which scared one of the guys into marching his entire marine army into my ally's base.
I made about 40 banelings to intercept him.
Last match we played we got tier 1 rushed. We were ZP vs TZ and the zerg made 3 queens, double hatch in main, and nothing but speedlings. Terran player had nothing but marines with stimpack (2 rax, one reactor one tech). We didn't know this until we did a zealot/stalker/roach push into the zerg's base.
I had one game where this guy was an obviously new player fresh from the campaign was just like "I'm going to build marines". he didn't even know where to research combat shields. But he was willing to take advice, massed his marines and I took both naturals. it turns out 100+ marines are pretty strong.

It was GG for us shortly after that, sadly.
Holy shit, I had a game so similar to that today.
Terran player made only marines and medivacs. After I scouted 6 barracks I promptly built a baneling nest and researched speed. After I made about 30 or so banelings, I saw his army marching toward my base. You can guess what happened next.

That was his entire army, so I just marched in with my mass hydra army and finished up. So strange. He was platinum too.

MNC, you have another rule to add to the op.
God has spoken, there's a difference between a "closey" (proxy) pylon and a forward pylon
