They way I see it is, Tali had the most memorable romance, and she's a pretty cool character, however, she doesn't come close to making the list of super awesome characters

But that isn't true. Garrus is an unstable, unreliable, easily influenced ninny. Zaeed on the other hand can be counted on to kill, is tough as nails, knows what he wants to do and what he wants done.
While Garrus may be a cool friend of Shepards, he isn't super-awesome. Hell, the way I see Garrus in the ME universe is that he's just a kid still. He doesn't even remotely think things through, and comes off, to me, as a liability to the mission.

Zaeed on the other hand is a boss.
Whereas Zaeed will get everybody else killed due to his self-centered attitude. He'll kill, is tough as nails, knows what he wants to do and what he wants done--but this isn't necessarily related at all to what's necessary for the mission or especially for the team.
I'd take Zaeed and point him at an enemy, the get out of the blast radius before he gets me killed. Garrus will cover my back. He's a team player.

Garrus will watch Shepard's back until he gets overly emotional about something and becomes as vindictive as Zaeed. Zaeed had one major conflict in the entire story, he had one grudge that needed settling and, with my help, his past has been taken care of. He's intelligent and creative(managing to wipe out a good chunk of our opposition and opening the gates via surprise explosion was genius), and he's known as being one of the best mercenaries out there.
Garrus, however, gets too vested in every situation he is in. It isn't just a job to him, everything is personal, and while this may translate to decent performance, it is too large of a liability. What happens when he disagrees with one of Shepard's actions? Does Shepard get added to his hit list as well? Garrus is too idealistic of a young-Turian, he's dangerous.

Garrus will fall in line because he's a team player. Heck, he even listens to Shepard when emotions are running high and he's got Sidonis in his sights, so that holds no water.
Contrast Zaeed, who cheerfully compromised the mission of rescuing those engineers so he could have his revenge. Yeah, that's right: the mission wasn't to kill Vido, it was to clear the facility and rescue the personnel.
Garrus and Zaeed are actually pretty similar characters both combat-wise and personality-wise. Zaeed is what Garrus could become if he continues along the renegade path. He goes to Omega just so he can kill whoever he feels like without reproach, that's not a sick nasty thing to do.

That's reasonably plausible. But he's not there yet, not by a long shot.
I wouldn't put it above Archangel-Garrus to endanger civilians to kill Sidonis, himself an unarmed civilian whose only crime was breaking under torture.
Especially since even C-Sec Garrus was willing to shoot a ship full of hostages to get Dr. Heart.
Making Kaiden die just because he's with the bomb doesn't make sense.
Kirrahe tells you beforehand that the bomb can't be stopped once it's armed, and if Kaiden's there then he reiterates this point.
What people say and what is actually the case can differ. Personally, I always saved whoever was camping the bomb because the bomb was the mission objective, so like hell I'm gonna piss off to some AA tower while the objective is being attacked.

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

Hey my Shepard believes in Kaidan. She believes Kaidan will get things done and will fight to the death. No geth are getting near that bomb, no matter what, regardless of the fact that they have no way of knowing there's no way to disarm it and would waste enough time to explode.

ASSUMING CONTROL
i hear he was totally not emo and whiney over it.
I remember had already made that statement a couple of threads ago
cough SOMEONE cough
Look, whatever happens in this thread just remember one thing.
We're not Talimancers.
And pray it never comes to pass. In the event that it does i will hunt down and kill everyone involved in this thread.
I am a Talimancer. A proud one.
Also I let her die in the Suicide mission.
Now I only need to lay Liara in 3 and kill her after.
And it's a HATTRICK
That's why I love Tali.
I hope Liara rapes you to death.

She can be a little bit stubborn sometimes, but she comes through

What kind of question is this? This is the Mass Effect thread.

From emotional stability to poop in 3 posts flat
hm...., haven't quite broken my personal record but got pretty close.

that angle just makes kaiden look like jabba the hutt

No, see, those are called "pecs"
They're a muscle.
yet the angle of the shot makes them lose all definition
black men look better than white men deal w/it

The geth could have killed Kaidan and moved the bomb in the time it took Shepard to fight Saren and save Ashley.
That would be unacceptable.

I'm willing to say "nuh-uh" because it never happens - Hell, they can't even killed Carth or Hitler before that point.
And I'd like to point out, Garrus vs. Zaeed
Do it with Zaeed and Legion gets shot in the face.
I don't want Legion to get shot in the face, guys.
Can't help it if your Shepard ain't got no faith
