I bet the quarians are hideous underneath those helmets.

Like if Jar Jar Binx and Jaba the Hutt had some fucked up little miracle baby, and that miracle baby went on to copulate with a Batarian.

quarians only differ from humans in body shape with the shins, their faces are pretty much the same as humans

I keep thinking I want to run ME1 again with absolutely no love interest. Ashley turned out to be a real bitch when I met her at the colony in ME2. She completely told me to F off when she saw I was working for Cerberus . Like all the stuff we went through never happened. Me sacrificing Kaiden, babysitting her all the time and being her therapist while she got over the fact that she couldn't cut it in the military. I can't stand her now. As for Jack, she's my soulmate. She reminds me of the movie Goodfellas. Where Ray Liottas character beats the shit out of his girlfriends neighbor with the butt of his revolver. Afterwards he gives the gun to his girlfriend to keep it, and she completely has his back, even with the danger of going to jail. That's Jack for me. She would die for me. Unlike all the other hoes on the ship.

    BAM!

I assume he was saying, "I however am fairly certain..." And it's funny, given the Quarians don't have a planet and whatnot.

but if you are going to not like him for some made up non-existant reason that only is real in your fantasy land then people are gonna call you on it

Actually, I find my reason very real. I just can't stand "tough guy upfront who's too proud to talk about his feelings" types. Really, just like Carth back in Kotor as soon as you get it out of him he whines about it.

No, you don't do society a favor by acting like this.

As soon as you get it out of him? So you mean, you hate Kaidan because instead of being upfront about his bitching, he waits until Shepard and him are conveivably FRIENDS to begin discussing what his true FEELINGS are about certain things.

And tough guy upfront? Have you realized he's in the military and Shepard is his CO?

Yep, I have. What does it change. It's a work releationship. You don't have to talk about your feelings. But if you don't please don't bottle them up to eventually endager the mission.

I'm bringing this up, but do you even know anything about the military or combat? I know you don't just by the context of your posts. So no, controlling your emotions does not make you less of a soldier, it's actually beneficial in combat.

It sounds like you are projecting. You don't like Kaiden, that's fine, we can all have opinions, but don't presume to know things you don't.

There's a reason I let him burn to death in my first playthrough: somebody who operates on vendettas and grudges above and beyond the mission - and can't be talked down, no less - is too crazy to work on my ship.

this is my actual view, Zaeed can't have outbursts like that in future missions

Precisely. Which is why I have to let him get his vendetta out of the way so he can focus 100% on the mission - saving the fucking galaxy!
Some engineers may or may not have been horribly burned to death as a result, but I can hardly be held accountable for their inability to engineer their way through a locked door. Hell, they had access to a catwalk directly over my team's heads; have they never heard of bedsheet ladders?

I just wish they wouldn't scream so much. Burn quietly you fuckers.

The low roar of the inferno, the heavy percussion of collapsing buildings, the screech of twisting and grating steel, the screams of the workers high above in a wordless chorus - such beautiful music, it could only be improved by the inclusion of batarians somewhere.

After the first few paragon runs where I always saved the screaming workers I now base my Zaeed choice on whether I want a heavy weapon bonus (the biggest benefits are that a) the cain unlocks earlier and b) a double-cain is possible later) or AR bonus (if I'm shooting lots of mans with ARs). So yesterday I turned the volume down to ignore the screaming.

    Am I a horrible meta-shep?

Controllling your emotions is NOT the same as botteling them up. Kaiden isn't controlling any of his emotions. If he did he could give me possible vital information from the beginning instead of backing away. I have to trust the guy with my life.

As for military experience. While I'm myself are rather out of combat situations i always had a interest in warfare. As for personal experience I only did the standard military duty in my country so.... not that much.

Also, I don't believe I'm projecting anything on the charachter. I just view him in a different light.

what I find wrong about Kaidan is that he could potentially be attracted to that lizard

now see you fail to grasp his subtlety

Shepard is the aggressor here. but Kaidan can't just bring Shepard down hard, this is Shepard. She'll murder him.

So he brings up Liara, insinuates a relationship between her and Shepard and slyly encourages pursuing it

then he mentions his old girlfriend, and emotional baggage

    Shepard is unfazed

Kaidan gives in, thinking he'll just close his eyes and try to enjoy it.

Another reason I just can't dig on the lady Shep thing. I just can't get over the inherent wrongness of me, a straight male hitting on either another straight dude as a woman, or as a space lesbian into blue calamari heads. It feels inauthentic if I'm trying to play it as "me", because I don't know how to relate to those points of view.
