The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Since I didn't found an actual rule against anime/manga threads apart from the closing of the general anime thread this thread is ok, isn't it?
Yes, It's a giant baby wrestling with a giant monster. Drakengard flashbacks ahoi.
An advertisement has revealed that a television anime adaptation of Ryūhei Tamura's Beelzebub manga will premiere next January. The advertisement lists the following cast members: Katsuyuki Konishi, Miyuki Sawashiro, Shizuka Itou, Aki Toyosaki, Tomokazu Seki, and Takahiro Mizushima.
There is already an Beelzebub event anime which will run during Shueisha's Jump Super Anime Tour 2010 this fall. The event anime is the first original anime project for the manga.
It's about a dude who punches people into various surfaces who has to raise a baby that is the son of a bored videogaming devil. Complete with Freddy Mercury and a umbrella wearing demon goth chick maid.
There is no official rule, but this sub-forum has a moderator who feels that anime is a blight against humanity, so threads are pretty much doomed.
So its best to not bother.
Here's an excellent example of the sort of thing this thread will have a longer and happier lifespan without.

we have allowed threads dedicated to specific animes (this is correct usage, yes?)
we just don't have a general purpose anime thread
also, the specific anime threads are contingent on people not posting pedo shit or getting in asinine squabbles with their fellow anime fans about ridiculous autism-spectrum bullshit that no one wants to spend their time moderating.
The PA Forums sold me on One Piece and before the last anime thread died, lots of people were talking about the awesomeness that is Beelzebub. So, after taking a look at the first episode, once again, the forums came through for me. That being said, it's being animated by Studio Pierrot so it's possible that we're in for a lot of filler.
Definitely the best shonen I've read since One Piece, and that's sayin' something.
I've kind of been fearing it becoming too formulaic like Bleach or many, many other fighting- or gag-based manga, but so far it's maintained a very good sense of novelty. I never really know what's going to happen in the next chapter.

Openings pretty bad though.

We have had long anime threads on this forum since then. Berserk and Sailor Moon are two recent ones that come to mind.
Just no general purpose anime megathreads.
So long as people want to talk about this specific show, I don't see the harm, personally.
That said, I know nothing at all about this show. It sounds ridiculous.
Let's play Mario Kart or something...
But it is?!!
elki really hates the anime, yes

so those are the basic rules.
