If you're going to PAX tomorrow, please go the the SpyParty and Monaco booth where you can play both praised indie games, for the first time made available to the public I believe!!
I live on the other side of the lake, so unfortunately I can not go, but if you can then please check this booth out and tell me what you think! This game simply sounds amazing, here's more info: http://spyparty.com/

Have fun there!
I've been following Spy Party since it was just an ugly little indie game. (Wait a second...)
I'm so frigging excited it's going to be there. You'll get my full report once I've played!
THANK YOU, Thank you, thank you!!! ^^, you do not know how happy this makes me! I'm too am frigging exciting since I heard about this game, I guess you already read the RTFM, and it really sounds great, plus the fact that Chris Hecker will probably add some more on the second day of PAX!
If you want to get a head start on all those suckers stuck reading paper copies, there's a copy of the manual up on http://spyparty.com/. I can't wait to play it, it sounds so intense.
EDIT: Somehow missed the link was already in the first post. Oh well.
DUDES! I totally saw Andy and Chris today. Spy Party looks totally awesome in person, and Andy has a little couch set up for four player Monaco matches. Good thing we're all friends here!
Sorry to keep you waiting Koel. I didn't get to play Spy Party today (there was a hell of a line!) but got to watch a few games. I totally love it and cannot WAIT to try it myself. It just hits all the right notes.
I played this today, it was really fun even though I sucked at it (lost both times, lol.) I will definitely try to play it again before PAX is over -- it's the best game I've played here so far :P.
Thanks alot guys! Reading this makes me very happy!! I hope you enjoyed PAX in overall, and Spyparty especially, maybe someone would be willing to write a preview about SpyParty after PAX, that would be even more great, but good to hear you're all enjoying the game!
Anyone played more then 10 games? Chris says on his blog that only after a couple of game you really experience the intense debt, so curious if any of you felt it yet?
Hmm, must have been busy then... Guess these stands are too small to pack with more computers unfortunately, what role did you enjoy better, sniper or spy?
I would say that the sniper is easier to get into and have fun with. First few games are hard to get into as the spy because you're trying to figure out how to plant the bug and stuff. It can feel like you're behind the game a bit. After that I am sure that the two roles are pretty fun for different reasons in their own regard.
Personally I think I'd rather be the spy long-term for my personality. I have always had fun pretending to be an NPC. This game would be pretty hilarious in other scenarios like say where the 'sniper' wanders around the town 'interviewing' people while the spy pretends to be a regular townsfolk. It has a lot of possibilities and I really hope we see more of this concept in years to come.
My friends and I all loved the game. Even with placeholder graphics, it was still incredibly fun. Definitely hope it makes it to Live Arcade in the near future.

With only one machine, it becomes a bit of a wait. Played it twice so far, though and it's awesome. I love hunting down the spy and get so nervous when I'm being hunted. Hope to be playing this someday soon as well, would be awesome to play back and forth even in this state.

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.
The developer said on his blog he got a sticker for being nominated as best game on PAX 2010, someone knows more about this, or where I can find the list of nominees?
TL;DR? I was a little tipsy, but Monaco was fun with playing with other people
"INFORMAL AND NON-RIGOROUS UNSCIENTIFIC OBSERVATIONS OF AN INDEPENDENTLY DEVELOPED MULTI-SENSORY INTERACTIVE ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE; MONACO"
BACKGROUND : Due to lack of quality of independent and shareware games I have surveyed over the last few years, I grew suspicious of the entertainment value of such interactive software titles, however both my podia grew fatigued and I seeked refuge in an immobile cushioned fixture that alleviates pressure by redistributing the forces to the large gluteus maximus. In order to prevent social akwardness, I found myself interacting with strangers and played the game despite my already preestablished negative review.
HYPOTHESIS: If I play this game, will I have fun?
OBSERVATIONS: The software was not graphically intensive, and the quality was reminiscent of cheap free/shareware from the mid 90's which also drew me away and led me to believe that it was of inferior quality. Despite my negative preconceptions, this piece of software was actually indeed entertaining. The basic premise and objectives can be derived within a matter of minutes and required few-to-no instructions. Teamwork and communication, and resource management between "cooperative scientific and peer-reviewed testing" was definitely critical to success of the experiment.
METHODOLOGY:
2x Pike Place Brew (355ml ea)
1x Corona (355ml)
A small sandwich, then I played the game
CONCLUSION: I can say with a respectable degree of certainty (p-value: .01) that this game is entertaining, however it is important to note a few anomalies in my own particular methodology that may construe and change the outcome of the experiment. Prior to testing: a favorable, but slightly toxic chemical response was affecting my cerebral cortex (Inman, 2010) due to inadequate amount of solid nutrition currently stored in my digestive system, and enough buzz-inducing tonic was ingested to induce this chemical reaction. The data may also have been greatly affected by the friendly-nature of the test participants in the study. I do recommend that this game should be played locally, or at least with internet-enabled voice audio transmission, and with test participants who aren't jerks, an independent study was outside the scope of this experiment. Lastly, I cannot give a complete analysis due to the short amount of testing conducted (Andy or Chris kicked us out). Further time testing is needed to correct errors in the methodology, perhaps a longitudinal study is in order? And further study is needed for more governmental research grants.
Lol, please write a preview like that for SPyParty as well!
Also, perhaps sunday on 3pm SpyParty booth will have a tourney for more experienced players (i.e. those that have played a couple of games) go check it out I would say.

My friends are back there playing for the third time while I had to come back to rest my feet.
