Silly question, does anyone know if there is a place to get the song/track information for the music CD? I picked up my game yesterday, ripped the music to my computer, but all of the songs are generically labeled. Helps!

Bought a copy today at Best Buy. There was maybe 6 or 7 on the shelf. I had a feeling they weren't going to be there next time I showed up so I grabbed one.
Peeled the seal off of the bottom and took a a tiny flake of the color up with it and it's bothering me. I'm anal about the stupidest shit.

Is that what made you realize how anal you are? Not the buying of expensive systems you already own because you want them to be white? Also I don't even bother taking the tape off of boxes like these. I just cut them with scissors or a butter knife and leave them. It's impossible to take them off without also removing some of the box.

I didn't have a knife in the car and I wanted to listen to the CD on the way home so I just did the best I could at the time.
Ah, yeah I wish they wouldn't use that tape. Stores never put special boxes out on display normally and if they do they're in a plastic case. The tape is completely unnecessary and is just there to ruin the box. It annoys me like when they get the plastic wrap on DVDs on the actual spine of the case, like it got melted onto it or something. How the fuck do I take that off and not ruin the case?
So This is just a very lightly altered SNES ROM? Damn. Maybe it means they plan on doing complete remakes of each and selling them separately. Maybe on WiiWare? Maybe on 3DS? Probably on Wii disc for $30. I hate to say it, but I would buy them.

I seriously doubt they will remake the original Mario games for Wii. DS, maybe, but not Wii. They'd rather spend more on new Mario games.
Actually, come to think of it, I can't think of that many Nintendo remakes--true remakes. There's Metroid: Zero Mission and Pokemon Gold and Silver. What else?

Meh, I wouldn't want them altered any more than they already are.
I lost my cart of All Stars years ago, and it goes for about 30 bucks or so online anyways...plus I still prefer physical media to digital. So with that and the extra stuff, I cannot wait to finally go and get it this week.

Well there's All-Stars, obviously, and Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green as mentioned.
I would count Mario 64 DS as a remake, they changed a ton in that game including most of the characters' 3D models and added a decent amount of content. At the very least, it's a heavy re-mastering, moreso than stuff like Link to the Past on GBA.
Do the Wii and DSiware Dr. Marios count as remakes or sequels? Same for that new Excitebike on Wiiware...
Upcoming remakes include OoT and Star Fox 64 on 3DS.
Super Mario 64 DS had 150 stars, and I'd say at least half of the original 120 were changed. 3 new characters. Improved graphics. It was pretty much an entirely new game.

The 3D models were improved, but I'd argue that anti-aliasing makes the N64 original look better.

The textures were also massively improved. Everything looks so much more natural.

Best thing I could find on short notice.
Ugh, I don't like M64DS's Bob-Omb Battlefield's colors at all. The textures themselves look good, just not the color.

They could have at least removed the SNES button prompts.
And I love the fact it's on a disc, and not for download except for one thing: I just went to 4 stores looking for it with no luck. EB was sold out, Best Buy hadn't got it yet, and Superstore and Walmart didn't have it anywhere. Starting to worry I may not get mine. I wonder how "limited" it is.
Instead I came home and bought Fluidity, which is awesome but makes me have to pee, which makes my water bill rise. So SMAS is basically costing me money, now.

You don't notice it while playing, it only looks sickly by comparison.
Personally I think Bowser had the most improved model.
Oh, I've played it at my cousin's house. Still don't like Bob-Omb Battlefield.
I didn't go very far, but the controls are kind of uncomfortable for a 3D game and some of the new stages don't look all that good, though it's still Mario 64 and it's good.
Edit: Yep, Bowser got vastly improved indeed. It's amazing and there is no comparison, though I still think N64 Bowser is nostalgic.

Same. Throw in Super Mario Advance as well.

I'd say remakes for the former, sequel for the latter.

Star Fox 64 was also in itself a remake.
Would Master Quest count as either, for OoT?
I'd still love to see Super Mario 64 DS remade for the Wii, with even more stars. I didn't really have problems with the DS controls, once I got used to them, but I think I'd still rather have a good console version.

Wario's Woods is not really a remake, it's a game that was released simultaneously for two platforms. You could say the same of Yoshi's Cookie (or Yoshi for that matter). Heh, I wonder if anyone remembers those games... Being puzzle games (all of them), it's hard to say if they would even count though, even if they weren't simultaneous releases. I mean, otherwise you could say Tetris has been remade a bazillion times at this point (even quite a few by Nintendo). They are games purely defined by their playstyle, so presenting them in different packages doesn't really change much. They are always going to be fairly indentical, barring "new game modes." (i.e. Tetris is always going to have the same blocks in the same size area with the goal to make lines... none of the new versions really mess with the gameplay, or if they do, they are presented as "different modes" alongside the classic one)
Other than that, a lot of it I think really depends on how you want to define "remake." I'd say personally that "port with additional content" doesn't count, unless the additions are substantial, as in Mario 64 DS's case.
I'd definately agree with Animal Crossing on that list, but haven't played the others enough to judge.
Incidentally, the Zelda Oracle games on GBC started out as a remake of the original Legend of Zelda. This is why they feature a ton of bosses and monsters from the original game and other familiar elements like the White Sword and such.

Wait, someone had said earlier that they just had the unaltered SNES controller sprite. This is better.

I think really early on, seasons was supposed to be a LOZ remake and Ages was supposed to be an AoL remake, and then a third game was gonna link the two together.
I only count 4 as a remake because of the E-reader stuff.
Same goes for SMB DX. But not LA DX. The former just feels way more substantial and worthy of the moniker.
Super Mario Advance added alot of small changes from enemies to graphics to items, and Super Mario Advance 3 added a handful of new levels.
Super Mario Advance 2 was more or less a Straight port, however.
The only one with no relevant changes was SM2, yeah. SMA3 added some extra levels, too.
*sigh* This just reminds me of how much I loved the new e-Reader levels in SMA4... I wish they'd port that to something and actually add a map editor in there. That would be fantastic.. but they'll never do that.
Does Donkey Kong '94 count as a remake of the arcade game?
Yes, at least that's the way it was presented. Though it was quite possibly the most amazing remake ever, given the original was a four-level game :P
Speaking of remakes, I would LOVE for them to actually remake Adventure of Link. It's like the bastard stepchild of the franchise. America hates it because it's different (and America sucks, it's an awesome game). Japan hates it because the version they got is actually a complete POS (aka it's justified hate, but they improved it SOOO much when they brought it over here). It's a game that could benefit greatly from a remake.
