Giant Bomb is saying 2000 as well. Not that I entirely trust Brad Shoemaker.

Kotaku also said it was supposed to be quite limited. Not that I trust Kotaku either. *shrug*

If there were only 2,000 they would never hit retail.

The Giant Bomb link is just going by the picture and not an official word from Gearbox.

You're doing it wrong if you don't bring some sort of audio playback device with Duke sayings on it.

Why should the man behind the counter hear my inferior voice, when Jon St. John can tell him all about metallic, spherical objects?

    "Can I help you, sir?"
"Yes, I'd like to pre-order Duke Nukem."
"Ah, I see two editions listed, which did you want?"
    "Balls of steel!"
    "Alr-"
    "B-b-b-b-balls of steel!"
    "Sir---"
    "Balls of steel!"
    And on and on.

Yeah, if it was limited to 2000 overall, preorders would have been closed several hours ago.

Considering it is exclusive to Gamestop and Amazon in the USA, even that number would be extremely low.

I mean, if there's any game you should get a collector's edition for, it's Duke Nukem Forever. You've had 12 years to save up the cash!

I'm just disappointed it doesn't come with a set of documentaries.

A little easter egg, a sample of things to come. Looking forward to hearing Duke's words, and I can't wait to hear other opinions he has on various subjects.

I can't believe that Canadian retailers have yet to put up the Balls of Steel edition for pre-order. Just gotta put an order on that.

As gunwarrior said, I posted a link to it in the last page, and in the thread, there was talk about Duke saying things which would infer that Master Chief is not entirely masculine.

I'm playing it for the first time right now (vanilla aside from the use of EDuke32). It holds up incredibly well as long as you turn enable mouselook, set anisotropic filtering as high as it'll go, and use quicksave.

For $6 on GoG, it's hard to go wrong. If you don't mind spending twelve more dollars on 3DRealms' website, Duke Nukem 1 and 2 are also quite good.
