When I started dating the Jewish girl, she made it clear that using the "K word," even in jest, was a dealbreaker. She said that NO ONE in the Jewish community joked about that word. I found that a little hard to believe, but of course I submitted to her will in that area.
Then, she went to NYC to interview at a couple labs there, and she stayed with her brother, a rabbi. He had a shirt that had the little Nike "swoosh," only instead of saying "Nike" underneath it, it said the K word.

You seem to know more about this than me, slung, but I'm just saying
I'm gettin' my money
The SEC actually able to do anything there?
no, since the broker didn't go through with the sale it was purely a civil matter. the SEC got involved because technically he could have thrown up a second mortgage (or two) on his house to pay off the margin, so the broker was in the wrong.

I guess I just don't understand how the guy managed to sue for that difference. That doesn't seem to work at all. It basically just cut out some steps that could technically be skipped anyway, I suppose, but it seems like they needed to be followed through.
It's definitely possible to be a jew without following the religion at all.
It's also possible to be born, say, Inuit, and become a full-fledged Jew.
Race is not something that you can adopt.
I know.
It's just that unlike the other religions I'm aware of, the jewish culture individually is just as big a component of jewish life as the religion can be.

Yeah. It's definitely different.
My ex considered herself Jewish, even though she was an agnostic, and only whent to shul on high holidays.

I didn't understand the whole thing at first... a few folks in my family are license brokers and they tried to explain the whole "buying on margin" bit to me. It really has to do with your standing as a previous purchaser and your ability to pay off the amount of the sale.
This dude didn't want to pay the margin, since it would have involved liquidating all his assets, so the broker refused the sale on the basis that he didn't have the funds readily available for the purchase. I believe the lawsuit was settled on the fact that he had the capability to come up with the 120K, and the broker refused the sale knowing that fact.

Man, I wish had gone to school for this sort of thing so I could swindle people out of money and be swindled out of money.

I know absolutely nothing whatsoever about investing money in the market.
This saddens me, as it is something I think I would enjoy, and know of a couple of stocks that have provided a friend with lots and lots of disposable income, as they were an inheritance and have consistently grown without dropping appreciably for many years.

You don't even have to swindle the money outta folks. The commission on large sales is ridiculous.
My cousin works in trading foreign currencies, and he works only works on multimillion dollar transactions. his commission is 3% at a minimum and he can do two or three transactions a week (but usually only does one). Even before he was licensed he was making like 4 to 5 grand commission just for speaking to customers in spanish.

Really? Is it really bad like all racism is in the US? I mean I know a girl from work who thinks it is ok to be hate blacks because she went to a predominantly black inner city school.
i went bowling with this whore that said it was ok to hate black people because of their culture of killing and gangs and drugs.
as long as she didn't hate EVERY black person. man what a whore
Question: What's the difference between anti-semitism and reg'lar old racism?
Semetic is based upon root language.
Racism isn't based upon language.
... they're both racism.
So anti-semitic people hate Hebrew? I'm so confused.
See, your first mistake was listening to Cal.
Also... t Cal - keeeeses
Bullshit.
Semetic refers to the Semetic languages. Jesus, read a history book once in a while.
KEEEEEEESES BACK!
Personally, I don't want to read any book that resulted in you spelling it "Semetic." That should be the first clue that something is off. But hey, maybe that's just me.
you paid money to a prostitute and all you did was go bowling.
nah we went to dennys at like 1am. that's actually where it came up cause a Fugees song came on and i was like "man i love lauren hill" and then she was all "nah I don't like black people". :x

Man, entertainment and dinner? When I'm hanging around street corners, I gotta look you up.

I hate to break it to you, but that scene was funny not because the word was ambiguous (it ain't) but because everyone in the audience thought Randall was a complete fucking moron for not knowing this.
Shit, I've lived my entire life in Georgia, and I never heard that word before Clerks II.
Good scene, though.

On the back, it said "Just Jew It."
After that, she said it was fine to use.

In other news, there is a single storefront/building in my neighborhood that houses two businesses: A Lebanese restaurant, and a Bagel deli.
