Girl who kicked Mountie in face pleads guilty

A 14-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to assaulting an RCMP officer after kicking her in the face at a youth correctional facility near Yorkton.

The incident happened Dec. 22, two days after 800 unionized corrections workers went on strike across the province and the Mounties were brought in to take their places.

According to the RCMP, the girl, who's from Regina, kicked the officer on the side of the face, causing minor injuries. While the girl was being restrained, she allegedly threatened the life of the arresting officer and a second officer, also from Yorkton.

The teen appeared in Yorkton youth court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to one charge of assaulting a police officer and two counts of uttering threats. The youth will remain in custody until sentencing on March 6.

The RCMP said earlier this month there have been a small number of similar incidents since they took over duties in the jails and youth facilities, but no one has been seriously hurt.

Rawr

In conclusion, women from Regina are crazy Mountie beating bitches.

So what's going on in your neck of the woods today?

Well just goes to show you that violent and undesired behavior isn't really genetic, it's more a consequence of environment kind of thing.

Yeah but that would seriously cut into any fantasies I might ever have about Mountie women in the near to distant future.

Moving onto national news (note the clever topic above):
Hundreds of people are suddenly discovering that they are not Canadians as new laws requiring travellers to have a passport to fly to the U.S. go into effect Tuesday, CBC's investigative unit has learned.

Many applying for a Canadian passport have been informed their chance to remain a citizen expired years ago because of an obscure provision in the Citizenship Act, a little-known law that applied between 1947 and 1977.

The law states that if you lived outside Canada on your 24th birthday and failed to sign the right form, you automatically lost your citizenship.

Barbara Porteous applied for a passport last year and was told in a letter from Citizenship and Immigration that she would have to apply to become a landed immigrant after spending most of her 70 years in Canada.

"These documents confirm you were a Canadian citizen, but you ceased being a Canadian citizen on June 14, 1960, the day following your 24th birthday," the letter read.

So that guy assaulted a 7-year old. I believe he got in the back door of a school.

    http://www.citynews.ca/news/news_7175.aspx

This guy just randomly walked up to a woman walking with her infant and stabbed her in the back. It's been said that he had a little chuckle then ran.

Also, a week or so prior, another lady was stabbed in the back travelling in our subway system.

Yeah this is different though. It's that between 1947 and 1977, if you had your 24th b-day in another country without signing some form, you were no longer a Canadian citizen.

A teenager who strangled and helped dismember his mother while under the psychological control of a pedophile was freed Monday after 16 months in custody and granted youthful offender status.

Angel Rosa, 16, was released to the custody of the psychologist who has been treating him since his arrest and who is adopting him.

Erie County Judge Sheila A. DiTullio, citing "the highly unusual circumstances of this case," accepted the Erie County Probation Department's unprecedented recommendation to grant the youth youthful offender status. She also imposed a six-month jail term, which already has been satisfied by the time Rosa has spent in custody.

Rosa was allowed by prosecutors to plead guilty June 9 to a reduced charge of first-degree manslaughter for strangling his mother in her Fargo Avenue flat two years ago. The plea came after defense and prosecution psychologists agreed he had been emotionally controlled by convicted pedophile Edwin Gimenez.

Gimenez, 51, pleaded guilty Sept. 18 to second-degree murder for masterminding the Aug. 18, 2005, killing of Madeline Irene, whose remains were cut up and dumped in the Black Rock Channel. He had also been charged with repeatedly molesting Rosa and his younger half brother. On Dec. 6, DiTullio sentenced Gimenez to 25 years to life in prison.

The judge agreed with Robert J. Cutting, Rosa's court-assigned lawyer, that after more than a year of constant sexual and psychological abuse at the hands of Gimenez the youth was literally a homicidal "tool in the hands of" the serial pedophile.

Rosa told the judge he was "extremely sorry for what happened to my mother," and he thanked DiTullio for giving him the chance to try to "put my life together."

The judge placed Rosa on probation for five years and directed him to perform 200 hours of community service. She also directed him to undergo any psychological counseling his adoptive mother and other mental-health professionals recommend.

Court officials confirmed that Rosa's half brother, Jose, now 12, goes by a different last name and lives in Buffalo with other relatives and is an honor student.

How is it that the pedophile gets the "second-degree manslaughter" charge? Dude... that's not cool!

They're saying he was responsible for the murder... it's not that far fetched if he has the 16 year old kid kill the woman.

and 2nd degree murder is different than 2nd degree manslaughter.

    Local in two ways:

    1) he was my congressional representative when I lived in PA

    2) the lawsuit takes place in my current hometown in DC

It's interesting for several reasons, first and foremost the man was elected because he was a "family values conservative", and it turns out the man was cheating on his wife of 30+ years and loved to beat his much younger mistress. She filed a lawsuit because of the abuse, which he settled quickly because he had an upcoming election. One of the terms of the settlement was that she had to keep her mouth shut (presumably so he could win his re-election). She didn't keep her mouth shut (rather someone who new the details of the case didn't keep their mouth shut because the allegations of abuse and the affair were made rather public and used against him by his politcal opponent). Now that he lost the election he refuses to pay the settlement.

Basically he's being a dick because his five year affair and frequent domestic abuse caused voters to turn against his hypocritic ass.

    Fuck 'em.

Some lady threw her baby into an oven.
An Orlando woman was arrested on felony child abuse charges Monday after she turned on an oven, put her baby inside and left her apartment, according to Orlando police.

Sharlyn Singh, 29, was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated child abuse after police investigated the claims made by the 11-month-old baby's uncle.

Morris Naraidoo told police that he was in the process of helping his brother, the baby's father, move out of Singh's apartment on Kirkman Road because they were breaking up. That's when he heard the baby crying.

Naraidoo said that he asked Singh where the baby was, and Singh didn't answer him and walked out of the apartment, according to police.

Naraidoo said he followed the baby's cry and realized it was coming from inside the oven, according to police. He told police the stove top was turned on but the oven was not hot enough to burn the baby.

Naraidoo said he turned the stove off and removed the baby from the oven, according to Orlando police.

"I was scared because I've never seen something like that before," Naraidoo said. "(The baby's mother) had a few drinks, and usually when she drinks, she gets a little drunk and acting crazy."
